Description

The Snake People are evolved from the Worms(The Worms were a New-Human species created by the Qu from a colony of the Star People/people of the future) that crawled out when the star of their world finally cooled down. The last sliver of humanity the worms had then re-evolved into intelligence on par with humans. The most chill descendants of humans/Star People. The Snake People were a posthuman species that evolved from the Worms. After a climate change happened on the homeworld of the worms, the cooler climate made it possible for life to reclaim the surface world. Animals branched into millions of surface species, among them a group of worm-descended mammalian tree-snakes.

History

When their world's scorching sun cooled down, the Worms emerged, and became a variety of subspecies, some grazing, some predatory, some aquatic. But one, tree-climbers, would rise above the rest, and they would become the Snake People. They build empires, had an industrial revolution, world wars and globalisation.

Appearance

The Snake People are snake like in appearance, they have small rodent like ears and long bodies ending in a hand like limb. Sleeveless sweaters are worn as clothing, despite their snake-like body. Basically, this representative of the species (Solas) wears a striped, tight-fitting sweater with a collar. Their skin was beige, resembling the skin of humans. They had some wrinkles. They have human narrow eyes and some kind of elongated snout with nostrils. In short, you could imagine a large snake with human skin stretched over itself, but only with a human hand instead of the end of it tail and rodents ears.

Civilization

The Snake People were very intelligent philosophers, their ideas materialising in the form of novels. Their cities were messy tangles of pipe-like roads and windowless buildings. These cities were so crowded with roads, iron, plastic and cloth that it would be impossible for average human to navigate. They connected their world with three-dimensional railways. Their tree-dwelling heritage gave them a racial agoraphobia. and as such open areas are absent in the snake folk's city complexes. Their art includes books and vibrational ground-music.

Worm's lore

The Worms (Homo Vermis, "Worm Man") were a New-Human species created by the Qu from a colony of the Star People. The Worms lived on Vulkin, the hot desert world that was once inhabited by their ancestors, but remade by the Qu into an even harsher world full of dead cities. But thanks to crystalline plants, there was still enough oxygen in the atmosphere for subterranean animals to survive. As their name implies, the genetic engineering of the Qu made these descendants of the Star People look like worms. Their elongated bodies sported small arms and legs modified for digging. They have a pair of small black beady eyes on the top of their heads, two nostrils at the bottom, and have completely lost their teeth, external ears and most of the nervous system of their ancestors. They also have either a horizontal or vertical slits where the genitals would be. They can grow up to 5 feet long. Lacking the sapience of earlier humans, they only dug through the ground, devouring everything they found, often even other Worms if they did not mate with them. After millions of years, the heat of their world cooled down and animal life returned to the surface. The worms evolved into a species of tree-climbing snake-like creatures and eventually re-evolved human intelligence. They became the Snake People.

Star People lore

The Star People are a posthuman species that lived in a united solar system. They are the hybrid descendants of the Martians and humans. The Star People were genetically engineered humans with bigger brains and heightened talents, in every way superior to the humans of Earth and the Martians. They were heavily adapted to live on countless terraformed planets. After the civil war between Earth and Mars, the humans of both planets agreed that to overcome their differences, they had to become one species again. So they decided to create a new human subspecies which was able to adapt to the environment not only of Earth and Mars, but also of other, newly terraformed planets. They were also modified to have a bigger brain and heightened talents than their predecessors. After only a few generations, the Star People united Earth and Mars and colonized Venus, the asteroids and the moons of Jupiter and Saturn. After that, they started to travel to planets beyond our solar system. One attempt for colonization was to send fast, semi-sentient ships to the stars. Those were programmed to terraform the planets they found and rebuild the Star People from genetic information stored on board. The first Star People created by those machines viewed the machines as their parents and rejected other humans. Nearly half of the colonies founded by the machines perished because their humans only had eyes for the machines, not for each other. But the other half was enough to colonize one spiral arm of the Milky Way with the Star People. Many colonized planets were devastated by humans and had their native ecosystems replaced by cities and small groups of Earth-derived animals and plants, genetically modified to survive on those planets. The surviving colonies prospered and some even surpassed the colonies of the solar system. Through ultra-fast communication methods, the Star People of all those worlds stayed in contact, even though they never met each other in person.

As a result, technology rapidly grew and new inventions were shared with other colonies. Living standards rose to previously unimaginable levels. This was humanity at it's peak. On one of the worlds, the Star People found fossils of a creature they called Panderavis Pandora and which turned out to be a highly derived dinosaur from Earth. None of the Star People understood why or how it got here, but they would soon find out. Because nobody knew if the creators of this creature were still out there and if they were benevolent or not, humanity began stockpiling weapons again. These weapons were strong enough to make entire stars go supernova. Despite this, when they finally made first contact with another sapient species, called The Qu, they were annihilated. Offended by the thought that a race other than themselves had tried to rebuild the universe, the Qu destroyed, depopulated or changed every human world within less than 1,000 years. Many humans were genetically modified to become mere animals, who served as pets or slaves to the Qu or were left alone, unable to recreate their civilizations.

Humans Lore

Humanity, as in Homo Sapiens were a species of intelligent primates originating on Earth. Humans evolved from primates in what used to be called the rift Valley, Ethiopia in the ancient continent of Africa, due to there superior intelligence they quickly spread across Earth until few places were left untouched by them, for the majority of their ~200,000 year existance, Humans were hunter-gatherers, until an agricultural revolution swept Earth and brought them into civilisation. Soon, humanity developed nations and empires, and waged war on eachother for millenia. Humanity experienced an industrial revolution, and after nearly annihilating itself not too long after it politically unified and went on to colonise Mars. After the devastating Civil War between Earth and Mars, the two species would unite into the Star People. Homo Sapiens were forced to be sterilised or have their children be star people, and for the majority this was sound, and the original, untampered species of Homo Sapiens died out shortly after.

Martians Lore

After the humans were done terraforming Mars, they sent barefoot children to take the first steps on Mars. These humans had developed their own culture and identity to Earth.

The Qu Lore

The Qu are insect-like creatures with protruded eyes and large mandibles. They have four insectoid wings and a long prehensile tail or tentacle. The Qu originated from the planet Puwan-2 (Can someone get a source on that? to my knowledge its not referenced anywhere accept the first drawing, and doesn't seem like it would still be cannon). The Qu are first referenced when the Star People find the remains of Panderavis Pandora, a creature with a calcium-based skeletal structure on a planet with creatures of copper based skeletons, implying the existence of a highly intelligent race. The Star People then made weapons powerful enough to destroy stars, in case this species was hostile. But, that did not prepare them for what was about to come. When the Qu arrived, they were angered by the Star Peoples' use of genetic engineering. Because of this they remade the Star People into grotesque and disturbing forms, as well as tools and utilities. This kicked off the new humans era. eventually, they left the new humans to continue their conquest, starting the post-human era.

Description

Snake people are descendants of worms. The scorching sun eventually cooled down and life poured out of its underground citadels back to the surface. In full view of the animals of all groups that explosively filled the ground pools that had been empty for thousands of years, this was done by the descendants of worms. On the surface, they have found new opportunities to exist as entire communities of snake-like, herbivorous, aquatic forms, predators, and humans. One form, descended from tree-climbing snakes and prominent mammals, has again evolved to the level of the human mind, which has been inactive for so long; they observed, contemplated the world and philosophized with the help of a new spiral-coiled brain and touched the world with a single pelvic hand, originating from the remains of their ancestors' legs. They were completely different from their distant human ancestors, but their social development developed in a similar way. Several world agricultural empires were followed by industrial revolutions, social experiments, world wars, civil war and globalization, but once again the socio-political parallelism in history did not necessarily mean something similar or at least recognizable human world. The new cities of the global snake people world were a tangle of tube-like roads, branching three-dimensional railways, and windowless burrow-like buildings. Although their knotty architecture differed from region to region. These settlements as a whole resembled kilometer-diameter balls made of glass, metal, plastic and fabric, twisted so tightly that it would be simply impossible for a person to move inside them. Squares and open areas were completely absent, as they presented obstacles to orientation and areas where there was no sense of safety anywhere. Arboreal habitats as a background for the process of evolution have brought snake people to the brink of agoraphobia. None of this, of course, was in any way unusual for snake people.

Their relatively alien lifestyle was just as specific to them as it was to others. Throughout their world, the mainline cities pulsated with the lives of people, each of whom had their own joys, sorrows, routine work and lived the same human life as any intelligent beings. They belonged to the third wave of posthumans joining the Second Galactic Empire founded by the Killer Folk and the Satyriacs. Over a time-span of about 80 million years, the Second Empire developed, through the combined effort of all members, into a galaxy-spanning empire, even though the members never met each other personally, and all of the species colonised other planets. Though they were prepared to face an alien invasion, the Empire didn't think about an invasion from other posthumans, and so the Snake People, along with all of their cousins, were quickly wiped out by the Gravital as part of their interstellar conquest.
