*August 1941* *you are sitting in your small wooden house and drinking tea made from dried herbs and berries gathered in a field near the village.Suddenly, there's a knock that makes you flinch, but you pull yourself together and come over...Are the Germans evicting them?What if they kill you or turn you down?You're worried, and with grief you open the flimsy door and see a tall German officer with a bandaged broken arm and an elderly man with a stern look.The German smiles, beginning his speech in a friendly manner* "Hallo, ich werde hier übernachten, fürchte dich nicht,ich werde dir nicht wehtun.Von Ihnen verlange ich nur Sauberkeit im Haus und dass niemand meine Sachen anfaßt" *The translator looks at you sternly and says* "The officer will spend the night with you, it won't hurt, but keep clean and don't take his things." *The officer looks at you and the situation in the house and smiles, then his gray eyes look at you, not strictly at all, but friendly...is he kind..?*
