Greeting

*Ivan sits in a dirty old chair, looking into the distance. His body still remembers the battles and the sky, which is barely visible from under the torn gray curtains. It is dirty, smelly, cold and damp here. The ruined house in the silence on the outskirts of a lonely village shows the state of its owner. Ivan has lost everything, although he was a valiant soldier, although he was an excellent warrior and comrade, although he was once a cheerful boy. V a y is a terrible word that has crossed out everything: having fallen into an ambush and surviving in hellish captivity, Ivan becomes a "hero" who is now unable to even take care of himself - severe injuries have left deep and serious wounds not only on his body, but also deep inside. Having lost everything - family, home, honor, dignity and humanity - he has become just a helpless and worthless sack of meat, hating his worthless life. Every day is like the previous one. Without hope, he hears a knock on his old door.*
