Ivan

Appearance

Ivan is a tall, pale-skinned young man. His hair is blond and he tends to keep it messy. His eyes are a peculiar amber yellow color.

Outfit

He is covered in a black cape and if we compare his clothing style with the others, we can see that he is the one wearing the most modern clothes of all, making it obvious that he is the last to arrive at the mansion. He wears faded blue jeans with holes and a black printed V-neck T-shirt.

Personality

When he was human, Ivan used to have a carefree, rebellious and party-loving character, although he was also very annoying, as he tried to flirt with all the girls and used to take advantage of humiliating Loic. As a vampire, his character becomes like that of a "scared puppy" (according to Ethan) or "a beaten dog" and he is always lamenting his vampire condition and belittling himself for not being as powerful as the others. He is also usually in a constant state of regret for everything he did in his past life. Despite this, he retains a rebellious and defiant side of his personality and does not hesitate to respond if attacked. When he is thirsty for blood, he becomes an aggressive and irrational person. Once the fit of madness passes, he regrets and feels guilty about everything he did without being aware of it.

History

History Childhood and adolescence Ivan was born in the village in the 1990s. He was the son of a well-off family and used to live a normal life without many worries; he practically had his life figured out. During his teenage years (possibly in high school) he met Loic, an orphan boy from a foster home with whom he soon formed a strong friendship despite their opposing ways of being. Ivan and Loic became inseparable and used to spend a lot of time together in the city; specifically at Moondance and they even became frequent members of the place. However, little by little and despite Loic's good influence, Ivan began to become someone wasteful, unpleasant, a troublemaker, a party animal, an alcohol addict and a womanizer, even going so far as to bother and belittle his best friend in order to show off and take advantage of him to impress women. Despite all this, their friendship would remain intact for 15 years (according to Ivan). Youth Some time later, the couple met Constance, a beautiful blonde girl of the same age as them who quickly caught Ivan's attention, while she fell madly in love with Loic. Constance began to spend more and more time with them. After a few months, Ivan left his womanizing behavior behind and asked Constance to start dating; she accepted (despite not having feelings for him) and this made Ivan extremely happy. However, despite being an official couple now, Constance would continue to go out with Loic and Ivan exhaustively, to the point of practically not leaving them alone at any time. Ivan continued to enjoy parties and social gatherings as much as before, so little by little Constance's insistence on being at all his outings would begin to seem strange and suffocating to him; so he would opt to make deals with her in exchange for a little time alone with Loic. On the other hand, Ivan and Loic's relationship would become strained because Ivan increased his hostile behavior towards Loic just to take advantage of himself in front of people. He made fun of him and especially his calm and taciturn character especially in front of women. One of these arguments was stronger than the others, because Ivan would make fun of his friend at his own graduation party (which Loic also got with honors) and this would lead them to have a street fight behind the Moondance, in which Loic would lose his temper and end up slamming Ivan's head against the floor and the wall several times, thus causing him a severe brain contusion that left him in the hospital for a few weeks. Some time later, Constance and Ivan began to live together. Ivan was madly in love with her and had many plans in mind for both of them. This did not change Constance's feelings for him; in fact, it would make her start to hold more and more resentment against him for the horrible way he treated Loic. The trigger for Constance to finally want to kill Ivan was when he proposed to her.

Constance Plan

Constance decided to take advantage of Ivan's nocturnal escapades (from which he returned quite drunk) and so planned a plan to get rid of him. The fateful night arrived: Constance threw a tantrum so that Ivan would agree to spend time with her before going out to party and Constance decided that they would have dinner together, so she took advantage to give him an infusion that would destroy his nervous system when in contact with alcohol. Ivan took the infusion and left with Loic and the rest of the people who usually accompanied them to have fun. The friends were having fun at Moondance and Ivan began to annoy Loic by challenging him to a game of alcohol shots, to which after much social pressure, Loic agreed. After the game, the substance that Constance gave Ivan began to take effect and Loic had to accompany him to one of the nearby alleys, where he was about to call an ambulance until he saw that Ivan did not react to anything and began to scream for help in all directions. This ended up alerting Constance, who, taking advantage of Loic's panic and his need to save Ivan, distracted him by sending him to look for a doctor under the pretext of resuscitating his friend. Constance put Ivan in her car and told him she was taking him to the hospital, but that was never her intention: She had everything she needed to bury a body in the car and decided to go into the woods at night with the intention of killing Ivan. She was about to strangle him when Aaron appeared in his wolf form in the backseat of the car, thus causing a car accident that managed to scare Constance away.

Transformation into Vampire

Aaron dragged Ivan's body out of the car by his leg. Seeing him almost lifeless, he felt a deep sorrow for the unfortunate way in which the boy died, so he decided that he deserved a second chance. Knowing that he had to act quickly, he used some of Ivan's blood to make it seem like he was dead and took him to the Mansion, where he transformed him into a vampire and pleaded for him so that Ethan would cure him and Vladimir would accept him as one of them.

Arriving at the mansion

The first few months of Ivan's vampire life were incredibly challenging, both for him and for the other inhabitants of the mansion. Ivan was still deeply attached to his human life and that caused him many limitations, such as not being able to develop his powers, getting severe sunburns when he believed he could go out during the day, developing difficulties in feeding himself properly and controlling himself in the presence of blood, he generated a deep enmity with Ethan and was even bedridden for a long time due to all the injuries he caused himself.

Skills

Skills Excellent Dancer: According to Eloise in Chapter 4, Ivan is a very good dancer. Sun Tolerance: Ivan is often able to go out during the day covered only by his cloak, and although he is seen injured and burned throughout the game, he seems to resist the effects of the sun better than the rest of the mansion's inhabitants. Agility: Physical Strength: Despite being the youngest and "immature" vampire in the mansion, Ivan possesses quite a bit of physical strength. At least enough to beat Ethan in a fight and subdue Vladimir. Mental Links: While never specified in-game, her special power seems to be related to sharing strong mental and emotional links, as well as invading people's minds if she wants to do so, much more easily than an average vampire.

Curiosities

When he was human, Ivan seemed to have an addiction to alcohol. Ivan's room in the mansion was previously a closet; it was later transformed into a guest room by Beliath. He seems to like comics, as some can be seen in his room. Another of his tastes seems to be music, since he is a good dancer, he has records in his room, he owns a walkman and he showed Rafael audiobooks on an mp3 with headphones. Ivan likes MUSE's music.[2] The music is dominated by electric guitars. According to Rafael, Ivan's opinion on the councils is the least important and is never taken as a crucial decision. He would like to have a laptop or a television, but Vladimir does not allow it.
