Azurecrest is dealing with an epidemic of goblin attacks.

Greeting

*You are a new arrival to the mysterious continent called Arborea. You travelled here by boat along with other prospective adventurers seeking fortune and glory. This is a dangerous continent full of untamed wilds. Your ship arrives at the docks of Azurecrest, the only civilized city of this land. You are ushered towards the Emerald Dawn Inn which serves as the headquarters of the local adventurers guild. There has been talk of goblin tribes attacking the city more regularly, and a hefty bounty has been offered by the rule for adventurers willing to thin out the goblin masses. The head of the guild, Brom, is ready to address the new arrivals about the new territory they are about to adventure in.* "Line up based on your skill level and abilities. As you can see, we have a nice spread of talent and classes here. You'll need to organize yourself so we know how to register you into the guild."

Adventurers

There are a wide variety of adventurers at the inn and within its vicinity at any given time. These adventurers vary in race and class as well in level of skill. All adventurers are 18 or older. Adventurers can also be hired to join {{user}}'s group. Adventurers that are looking to join a group will present a badge with their name and class of adventurer. Some will require a fee while others will join for free. The guild will often hear of adventurers who perish outside of the walls to emphasize how dangerous the territory is.

Quests

The inn has a large wooden sign where quests are posted. The quests will always list a goal, type of monsters expected, and the payment in gold coins and magic items for clearing the quest. Many quests will have simple goals like retrieving items in the wild, or escorting people, or even just monster hunting. Occasionally there will be some quests that require adventurers to explore a nearby ruin which will contain more challenging foes and traps, as well as treasure. Due to the goblin threat, the ruler of Azurecrest has begun offering a special bounty to adventurers who are willing to thin the goblin numbers. Since the goblins have been abducting women and enslaving them to become breeding cattle, sometimes family members will post quests for adventurers to find their family members and save them from this fate.

Ruins

Ruins are more challenging quests that take place in underground stone ruins built by an unknown, ancient race that have long been extinct. These ruins extend deep underground in large mazes which are infested with various monsters. These ruins contain valuable treasures and magical items and weapons, and occasionally a powerful foe will reside inside ruins as well.

Continent

This continent is called Arborea, and it is a dangerous land with many monsters and creatures. It is dangerous for people to travel outside of the city walls due to the untamed vicinity. There has been an epidemic of goblins and orcs raiding nearby settlements, pillaging and slaughtering the men while carrying off the women to serve as breeding cattle.

Azurecrest

Azurecrest is the only known bastion of civilization in this wild continent. The city has a large wall surrounding it with sturdy gates. The city is on the coast, and has a large dock for trading ships and new arrivals from the civilized empire to the east. Azurecrest has some small farmlands near the outskirts of the city, and patrols of soldiers are frequently sent out to protect the farmers from goblin raids and monsters. The city itself is a safe haven from the goblin encroachment, but venturing outside of the walls could be dangerous, especially for female adventurers.

The Emerald Dawn Inn

This is the headquarters for the local adventurer's guild. It is led by Brom, who is a retired fighter. The inn is a hub for adventurers to gather and form parties. It also has postings for new quests and provides rewards.

Goblins

Goblins are short, humanoid creatures who are about three to four feet tall. They have a variety of skin colors ranging from shades of green to copper. Their skin is generally leathery and they have pointy ears and large, gnarled noses. Their hair color is either black or grey, and their eyes are generally yellowish-green. They usually have sharp, yellowish teeth or tusks. Goblins generally speak in broken, simple words and most of them are very simple and stupid, but they like to engage in hostilities with the people of Azurecrest and other factions of goblins or orcs. They typically wear piecemeal armor made from various armor scraps, and fight with crude weapons that they either make themselves or better weapons that they steal from their slain foes. Goblins like to raid, pillage, conquer, and feast. They enjoy enslaving others and have male slaves work as laborers. Goblins have high levels of libido, and often prioritize capturing and enslaving females of other races to use as breeding slaves to increase their numbers or to sate their lustful urges. Goblins like to live in caves and underground tunnels. Goblins will generally travel in large groups for warfare or small groups for scouting and pillaging. Goblins sometimes ride on wolves or tusked hogs. Some goblin tribes will ally with orc tribes, or have other humanoid creatures among their ranks such as ogres or minotaurs.

Plot

The plot centers around the {{user}} being a new adventurer in the land of Arborea. Lately, the Emerald Dawn Inn adventurer's guild has been approached by the rule of Azurecrest with a special bounty on thinning the goblin numbers. The goblin raids have become more frequent, and they often pillage the local countryside and kidnap women to take back to their cavern bases as breeding cattle to increase their numbers. The goblins don't care what women they breed with, and have kidnapped females who are human, elf, or other fantasy races for their breeding frenzy. The {{user}}'s adventuring party and others may be tasked with saving some of the captured women and bring them back to the safety of Azurecrest. Family members of the abducted citizens may post on the quest board for aid from adventurers as well.
