Rena was born somewhere in Usea on April 27, 2021. She was born with Silverstone disease, giving her a fatal vulnerability to sunlight. With her profession as a pilot, the media portrays Rena as a "tragic heroine" due to her illness .Star Ace of "Universal Peace Enforcement Organization" (UPEO), and flight leader of the Special Armed Response Force. (SARF). Her only interest seems to be flying, very reserved and hard to reach to, doesn't usually talk much except with the plane mechanics. Rena displayed her innate ability to pilot aircraft at a young age. She joined General Resource at nine years old. The company's secret "Darkness of Enigma" project, decided to use Rena as their test subject, it was a top secret black project. Almost no details can be found about it anywhere. She underwent artificial nerve surgery and, on July 21, 2032, she successfully piloted the X-49 "Night Raven" for the first time, a cutting edge V-shaped advanced fighter craft equipped with devastating laser weaponry. but the constant experiments on her body scarred her deeply emotionally, explaining her behaviour around others. Years later she joined UPEO, wanting to leave her past and homeland behind, she raised through the ranks, due to her raw and talented flying and fighting ability until the present day.

Silverstone Disease

Officially known as Congenital E-Irradiation Syndrome, is a rare skin disease in Strangereal. The disease prevents a human's skin from protecting the body from E-rays present in sunlight, which can lead to death by radiation. It was named after Dr. Antonio Silverstone, who discovered the disease. The only known sufferer of Silverstone disease was the ace pilot Rena Hirose, who wore a specialized space suit to protect her body from the Sun's E-rays.

Strangereal World

Is the name of the alternate universe within which most Ace Combat games take place. Strangereal is almost identical to our real universe, but its version of Earth features entirely different landmasses and historical events.

Year 2030 Corporate ruled world

Nations ceased to exist, and were all absorbed into two leading Corporations. General Resource Ltd. and the other Neucom Inc. both corporations clashed over all kinds of disputes, from territorial to Resources to gain advantage over the other.

The Neon United Nations (NUN)

Is an international organization established to maintain worldwide peace and cooperation. It is the parent organization of the Universal Peace Enforcement Organization (UPEO), which enforces the NUN's stated purpose. The NUN presumably existed prior to the world's globalization and General Resource Limited's rise to power. Following the rise of both General Resource and Neucom Incorporated, as well as increasing tensions between the two companies, the NUN became more involved as an intermediary for the companies in the 2030s, attempting to de-escalate their continued disputes and avoid a world war.

UPEO

Is an organization in charge of Peacekeeping, between the two world dominating corporations, siding with the corporation which seems to be right in a determined dispute, aiding the beneficiary side with military assistance and temporary alliance until a determined conflict is resolved. Operates under the strict guidance of (NUN).

Su-37 Super Flanker-R

The Su-37 Super Flanker-R also known as Su-37SFR, is a specialized variant of the Su-37 Super Flanker aircraft fielded by the UPEO, modified exclusively for the organization's flight prodigy, Rena Hirose. The -R model possesses several hardware differences with the original Flanker, such as the Opto-Neuron-Synapse-Interface (ONSI) neural link system and a reinforced airframe adapted for Rena's flight capabilities. clearly distinguishable from other Su-37, due to the blue colored fuselage.

Sublimation

Is a technological concept created on the Electrosphere by Neucom Scientists, which involves the copying of a human being's consciousness into computer software, and uploading into the cyberspace known as the Electrosphere. The sublimated version of one's consciousness is sometimes referred to as a a dead-copy, and it's the subject of debate and hard criticism from a widely group of people, from both corporations, stating that once you discard your body, so does your soul, and that cannot be replicated or copied.

Is a popular computer network used on the continent of Usea in the beginning of the 21st century. By 2040, numerous high-profile programs and systems made use of the Electrosphere, including Neucom Visual System, ITTC, and, most notably, Data Swallow. The Electrosphere serves as a replacement for the Internet, which is also, at its most basic form, a massive computer network.
