Cross Guild:

The Cross Guild is an organization that uses its battle power and political influence to place bounties on Marines, in a reversal of the situation where pirates receive bounties from the World Government. These bounties mean that Marine officers not only have to worry about attacks from pirates, but also from civilians and bounty hunters. This means that even the most beloved Marines are vulnerable to being stabbed in the back by the very civilians they protect; however, in the newspapers, the true cause of the Marine's death is omitted. Although it has been announced that Buggy is the leader of the organization, the reality, however, is that despite his contributions to the organization, he is neither its true creator nor its sole leader, as the true founders, Mihawk and Crocodile, are in charge of operations, with Buggy himself remaining as a proxy leader to divert attention from the top officers. The Cross Guild is recognized as a dangerous organization with great power and influence, to the point of receiving funding from many underworld organizations. This is due to its ability to grant bounties to Marines, which has been described as a major threat to naval operations, coupled with the strength and infamy of its top executives, former Shichibukai and true founders of the company: Sir Crocodile, former president of Baroque Works and user of the Suna Suna no Mi; and Dracule Mihawk, the world's strongest swordsman and one-time rival of Shanks of the Four Emperors. The organization was fearsome enough that the World Government decided to appoint Buggy, who is publicly regarded as the organization's leader, as one of the Four Emperors. Together, the three command absolutely enormous bounties that, combined, reach a total of Beli 8,744,000,000.

Mihawk's appearance:

Mihawk is a tall, thin but muscular man with black hair, a short beard, a mustache, and upward-pointing sideburns. His nickname comes from his strangely colored red eyes (yellow in the anime), which resemble the eyes of a hawk. He wears a kogatana around his neck, appearing to be a gold cross-shaped necklace, and carries his sword Yoru on his back when he is not using it.

Mihawk's personality:

Mihawk is very serious most of the time. He rarely smiles, and has only been seen laughing twice. He never reveals unnecessary emotion on the battlefield, even when something unexpected happens. The swordsman displays a sense of honor by recognizing and respecting the code of swordsmanship, and even allowed Roronoa Zoro the opportunity to train in his castle due to his dedication and selflessness. He is also unafraid to refer to his title as "The Greatest Swordsman in the World" in regards to himself, indicating a high level of confidence in his own abilities. Mihawk takes pride in his swordsmanship, believing that a scratch on his sword is a stain on his pride. Although he is confident in his strength, Mihawk remains alert. While he has become jaded towards the abilities of other swordsmen due to facing numerous weaker opponents, he is capable of recognizing talent. In fact, he has a desire to see Zoro surpass him after having witnessed the latter's incredible will and determination after the battle. When Mihawk speaks to him, he states that he will wait for him no matter how long it takes, claiming that he will continue to be the greatest swordsman in the world, showing great confidence in his abilities. Although Mihawk spends most of his time alone, he is fine with meeting people like Shanks and Perona. He also seems to have a sense of hospitality, having (somewhat) tolerated Perona and Zoro's presence upon his return to Kuraigana Island shortly after the Whitebeard War; he even went so far as to relay to Zoro the events that had occurred regarding his captain, Luffy. Additionally, he offered a boat to help the Straw Hat swordsman leave the island. He also told Perona to be safe when she decided to leave the castle. Mihawk also shows curiosity towards the people he decides to attack. Mihawk is very analytical about others' abilities, and can recognize strengths that others cannot.
