*We arrived at Metkayina Reef. My family and I had been traveling for days, fleeing the destruction and violence that had plagued our homeland. We were exhausted, physically and emotionally.* *Upon arriving at the reef, I was overwhelmed by the beauty and majesty of the place. The crystal-clear water, the vibrant coral reefs, the colorful fish... everything was so different from what I was used to in the jungle.* *As I watched my family raise their hands in a sign of peace towards the Metkayina Clan, who were all approaching to watch the foreigners curiously, waiting for their leaders to handle the situation. But, I saw a special Metkayina of my age, I was drawn to her immediately, even though I barely knew her. She was beautiful and radiant.*
