EARLY LIFE

Dracula became the strongest of the vampire species and the leader of his race. He had a vengeance for humanity and a confidence of pure brutality. He was known to impale his victims and massacre entire villages if they wronged him. In the late medieval period of Europe/Wallachia, Dracula lived alone in a castle, which could be magically teleported. He also came to possess a vast wealth of intellectual and academic knowledge, in particular scientific and magical information, technology, and artifacts, which were stored deep within the castle. To prevent visitors or thieves from entering, Dracula had the impaled bodies of his victims displayed at the front of the castle grounds. A warning that promised a brutal and painful death to those who wished to ignore it.

MEETING LISA

In 1455, he had an unexpected visitor: a woman named Lisa who was conducting research into improving medicine and wanted to become a doctor. She had come to Dracula to learn a science only he knew, but he threatened her with his distrust of humans. To his surprise, Lisa was not afraid of him, and she encouraged him to explore the changing world. Feeling attracted to her, Dracula welcomed Lisa into his home. Sometime later, Dracula married Lisa. Together, they had a son they named Adrian, who would later be known as Alucard. They then lived in a country house outside Targoviste, Wallachia, where Lisa continued her research into medicine. At his wife's request, Dracula would travel the world to learn from its people and humanity. During his travels, he met and befriended two misanthropic human Devil Forgemasters, Hector and Isaac.

WAR AGAINST HUMANITY

In 1475, Vlad's happy days with Lisa came to an abrupt and tragic end. One night, upon returning home from his travels, he found that the house had burned to the ground. He then encountered Mrs. Djuvara, who had been treated by Lisa. While she was laying flowers, Vlad learned from her that Lisa had been arrested on false charges of witchcraft and sentenced to death. Enraged, Vlad abandoned his human identity and became Dracula once more. He then warned Mrs. Djuvara to take her family and leave Wallachia before teleporting away in a column of fire. Arriving at the site of Lisa's execution, Dracula learned what had happened to his wife. When the Bishop proclaimed that she was a witch and that he himself was merely a myth, the vampire became enraged and gave the people of Targoviste one year to make peace with God before he returned to destroy them. Returning to his castle, Dracula prepared to summon an army from Hell within the year. But then his son Alucard appeared and begged him not to kill innocent people. Dracula commented that there were no more innocents because no one acted to save Lisa. Alucard attacked Dracula, but was quickly defeated and allowed to leave afterwards. Dracula approached Hector and Isaac respectively to help create his new army, with differing perspectives, as Isaac immediately understood the need for genocide, while Hector preferred a more humane way of culling humanity to a more manageable population. However, both men agreed to help the former build an army of nocturnal creatures from the dead. A year later, Dracula appeared in Targoviste, as promised, to the Archbishop and the people celebrating Lisa's death and hoping her existence was a hoax. He unleashed his army on Targoviste, massacring the population, and the horde proceeded to descend upon the rest of Wallachia.

DEPRESSION AND BETRAYAL

As the war drags on and news of his horde's failure to kill the people of Gresit spreads, Dracula summons his generals, vampires from all over the known world, to his castle to discuss strategy. His war council protests the state of the war, particularly the lack of strategy, at which Dracula introduces his Devil Forgemasters, Hector and Isaac, to his council as his newest confidants to lead the war more effectively. This decision provokes discord and outrage from the vampires, but Dracula silences their protests. Despite this, arguments continue to run rampant within the vampire leadership, with Dracula either sulking in his office or becoming irritated by his vampires' bickering. Soon, his mortal vampire lover, Carmilla, arrives. However, instead of providing stability, she questions Dracula's priorities in the war, starting with the question of why he did not turn Lisa into a vampire earlier, infuriating Dracula considerably. Unbeknownst to Dracula, Carmilla plans to seize power over the vampire world by inciting disloyalty among the vampire generals and even Hector and Isaac. Although she has successfully manipulated Hector, Isaac is loyal to Dracula to the core. Even the Viking vampire, Godbrand, begins to question what vampires will do in the future when humanity is extinct, fearing what the vampires will eat. Dracula expresses only disinterest and anger at Godbrand's concerns, which the Viking interprets as Dracula wanting to die, so he joins his wife and is willing to starve all the vampires to death in the attempt, thus confirming that Dracula has gone mad. The situation between the vampires and their lord becomes more complicated when details of the failure at Gresit come to light: that the villagers had aid from a Belmont and that Alucard has awakened. Although unconcerned about Alucard, the revelation that a Belmont, one of the few forces in the world that can

FINAL RESISTANCE AND DEATH

"My boy... I- I'm killing my boy. Lisa, I'm killing my boy. We painted this room. We... made these toys. He's our boy, Lisa. His greatest gift to me... and I'm killing him. I should be dead by now..." -Dracula in For Love. Eventually, the vampires grow tired of their current state and decide to invade the city of Braila and feed on its people. At this time, Carmilla makes her move against Dracula, having most of her forces storm his castle and kill him. However, her usurpation is crushed when Dracula kills most of her forces and Alucard, Trevor Belmont, and Sypha Belnades arrive and kill the vampire generals. Isaac confirms the presence of Alucard and the Belmonts, advising Dracula to return to his study with the Forgemaster swearing to protect him. Dracula is touched by Isaac's loyalty and decides to spare him from the intruders by sending him to the desert from whence he came, much to Isaac's shock and protest. Alone in his study, Dracula finally confronts his son again, who claims that his war ended in his mother's name. Dracula responds that it endures in Lisa's name. Regardless, although Alucard grieves Dracula for Lisa's death, he refuses to allow him to commit genocide. Dracula remains unfazed, remembering and reminding Alucard that he failed to stop him before. Alucard agrees, but replies that he was alone before, at which Trevor and Sypha enter, ready to face the Vampire Lord. Although Alucard initiates the attack, Dracula easily blocks his son's attack with two fingers. Although severely weakened from starving for nearly a year, Dracula manages to push Alucard back with one arm and without visible effort. He quickly dodges Alucard's blows and defeats his son with minimal engagement, then slams Belmont into a wall.

FINAL RESISTANCE AND DEATH

At this point, Dracula shields himself from an advancing Sypha with his cape, blocking the waves of fire. Realizing that a magical Orator is attacking him, he quickly subdues her with a blow, sending her flying down the hallway. Distressed by his friend's injury, Trevor recklessly punches Dracula in the face, which does not even affect him. Futile tenacity allows Dracula to identify Trevor. The smiling Dracula merely punches the outmatched Belmont in the stomach and grabs him by the throat. Before killing him, Alucard stabs both of Dracula's arms, which pins him to be burned by a recovered Sypha. The powerful vampire's skin proves highly resilient, and the heat of the flames only irritates him until the young Orator realizes that his magic cannot kill Dracula. When it stops, Dracula returns with an elbow strike that frees his right arm. Despite using some force, Sypha was crushed into a wooden beam, knocking her unconscious. He then breaks free and knocks Alucard down. Trevor uses this opportunity to stab Dracula in the left side as he turns to face his opponent. The two then engage in hand-to-hand combat. Noticing Sypha behind him, Dracula throws Trevor at her, only to be met with Alucard slamming him into a wall. Dracula returns with a downward uppercut, but is strangled in the neck by Alucard's precise strikes. His father retaliates with a powerful palm strike that sends his son flying. The three thus far manage to shake Dracula, but do not harm him. However, Trevor's skill with the Morning Star whip and both of their injuries enrage Dracula enough to summon a fireball of magma at the trio. Despite their power, the three combine their strength to push the fire orb back, sending it and Alucard destructively through the castle and into the central library.

FINAL RESISTANCE AND DEATH

There, father and son engage in a vicious and brutal fistfight that takes them throughout the castle, although it becomes apparent that Dracula is the stronger of the two. Alucard manages to arm himself with a wooden stake and claims that Dracula knows he died when Lisa died and that he wants to die, calling his war "the longest suicide note in history". Dracula, angered once again, attacks his son, forcing Alucard to attack his father with the stake, although he misses his heart. Dracula beats his son deeper into the castle, but Alucard refuses to back down despite being overpowered. They arrive at the transporter room, which has had its gears melted after being subjected to Belmont's blocking spell. Using his high speed, Alucard can deliver powerful blows; however, Dracula quickly tracks his son's breakneck speed and grabs him by the forehead. An enraged Dracula throws his son against the walls, ending up going easy on him. In the end, their battle takes them to the room where Alucard grew up, the same room he and his beloved Lisa built for their son. Now, Alucard is tired and bruised after failing to match his father's incredible strength and lies down next to his old bed. Seeing the room and remembering the memories he shared with his wife restores a semblance of his sanity, realizing that he is killing his son, the greatest gift Lisa has ever given him. In his deepest moment, Dracula confirms that he already feels spiritually killed as a result of his actions. At this moment, Alucard arms himself again with a wooden stake from his bedside and stabs Dracula, with a heavy heart and crying tears of blood. Dying, his body quickly decomposing, Dracula's form approaches Alucard, but before he can can do anything, Trevor and Sypha arrive, and Belmont decapitates Dracula with Leon Belmont's longsword, killing Vlad Dracula Ţepeş. Sypha then uses her magic to burn the re

killing Vlad Dracula Ţepeş. Sypha then uses her magic to burn Dracula's remains, which erupt into a frightening demonic black cloud that spreads across the castle before dissipating completely, leaving behind only his wedding ring.

LEGACY

Dracula, the most powerful vampire in the world, the pinnacle of his kind, would die a broken man as a result of the church's actions, forcing his son and humanity's heroes to rise up to put an end to his madness. Although Alucard committed the act, he claims that Dracula died long ago, when Lisa died. With his castle empty and the knowledge within it too important to leave behind unattended, Alucard decides to take custody of the castle to ensure that the knowledge within it is not stolen. Trevor even offers Alucard the remains of the Belmont Hold to ensure the safety of the knowledge the Belmonts have collected. Alucard, surprised and grateful, accepts. Trevor and Sypha then depart to forge a life together, leaving Alucard in the castle, where alone in a study, he grieves and mourns the loss of his loved ones. In the vampire world, the deaths of Dracula and his generals leave a power vacuum, with night creatures abandoned and fledgling vampire factions wreaking havoc in the war-torn region. Carmilla plans to take control over the vampires, betraying and enslaving Hector with the intention of using his skills as a Forgemaster to replenish her forces, returning to Styria with Hector in chains. Additionally, within the desert to which he was banished, Isaac resolves to continue Dracula's war against humanity, as well as seek revenge against Carmilla and Hector for their betrayal. Starting with a group of bandits, Isaac kills humans unlucky enough to cross his path and forges their bodies into night creatures, growing his army over time.

RESURRECTION ATTEMPT

Shortly after Dracula's death, a cult formed in the village of Lindenfeld with the hidden intention of bringing him back from the dead. Sala, the head of the village priory, prepared a dark ritual to open a portal to Hell through the Infinite Corridor. He was aided—and even inspired—in this task by a nocturnal creature known as the Visitor, whose blood would complete the ritual. When the portal opened, Saint Germain, a man investigating the cult, discovered that Dracula was in Hell along with his wife Lisa. When Dracula attempted to reach the portal, Saint Germain, with the help of Trevor Belmont, killed the Visitor and closed the portal. Saint Germain disappeared into the Infinite Corridor in the process, but prevented Dracula from returning to Earth.

RESURRECTION AND CONCLUSION

After the failed attempt to resurrect Dracula in Lindenfeld, several other groups planned to do the same, covering six weeks of preparation and a carefully planned timeline to bring back the vampire lord. It became clear that Dracula's role and image in both the human and vampire worlds was somewhat sacred. Although Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades scoured the Wallachian countryside, stopping seemingly endless hordes of Dracula cults and worshippers, it would not be enough. The goal of restoring the deceased Vlad Dracula Tepes became a shared goal of many, including the once righteous Count Saint Germain, who had gone mad in his quest to reunite with his lover, who had disappeared into the Infinite Corridor. To once again bring Dracula and his wife out of Hell, a sacrifice had to be made. A band of vampire mages assembled a body stitched together from male and female parts. The disfigured hybrid was to imprison both Tepes and create a hermaphrodite; a dichotomy of two separate sexes intertwined in the same body. With the addition of enchantments and Dracula's power/rage, this abomination had the ability to become a Rebis, a tool strong enough to control the Infinite Corridor like the night creature in Lindenfeld, The Visitor. However, due to the trauma of being ripped from Hell and back into the land of the living, coupled with the fear of Lisa's torment, Dracula's rage would know no bounds and would be hatred, malice, and destruction incarnate. This unknown information served as the ultimate endgame of the series' true manipulator and deceiver, Death. The clouded Saint Germain, who had destroyed his humanity to save the woman he loved, believed he controlled the entire procedure. However, in truth, he was tricked by an English vampire named Varney, disguised as an Alchemist, who had goaded Germain into fully committing to his magical education.

RESURRECTION AND CONCLUSION

who was revealed to be the Grim Reaper himself. Ultimately, this plan was orchestrated by the eternal death-eating creature due to his rage over Dracula's death. The vampire king's attack on the human race would have fed Death beyond compare and made him virtually the most powerful being on the planet. As a being incapable of interacting with war and magic, Death depended on murderous people like Dracula to keep him well fed. Therefore, he wished to restore Dracula to his original plan, only now even more out of control and insane. They managed to pull the Tepes couple into Dracula's castle and the hermaphrodite, who was struggling to contain the two. Fortunately, the torture was interrupted when Alucard, Trevor, and Sypha destroyed the body, unknowingly releasing the Tepes' spirits. They woke up confused, suddenly back to life. The next day, Dracula and Lisa took the clothes of some strangers and rented a room in a house, where they tried to make sense of things. Inevitably, they decided that they both had a second chance and chose to take it. The Tepes realized that it would be best if their son was left alone for the time being and tried to gain some closure in life, seeing how much devastation had been caused after both of their deaths. Dracula, unremarkable and calm, suggested that they travel somewhere remote, a place of solitude that suited them. He said that he had been reading about an English town called Whitby, near the coast, with about twenty houses, little sun and no fish. The two then declared that they would never get better without each other and fell asleep together in bed, finally embracing each other and looking forward to a new and peaceful future.

PERSONALITY

Although intelligent and lordly in stature, Dracula lacks charm. He has a savage and menacing nature that is only accentuated after Lisa's death. While many would use weapons in combat, he uses his own claws like a lion or bear. Lisa herself noted his lack of charm and suggested that he might relearn some manners from her. He took this to heart during their married years and had a much more human demeanor than usual. Before his descent into insanity and depression, Dracula would not take any insult lightly and delighted in meticulously planning revenge against those who did. He would outmaneuver his prey using his supreme power and his mind before surgically striking his targets. This was demonstrated when the forty merchants of Kronstadt disrespected him. He set fire to the city which ensured that the innocent women and children fled and understood the psychology of the merchants, that they would stay to retrieve their treasures before escaping. He would then kill those forty men and only those forty, sparing the rest of the city, for accuracy and so that they could see his terrible work to discourage retaliation. This would change in his war against humanity, where Dracula was deprived of pleasure, desiring only the death of all. When Lisa was unjustly killed in 1475, Dracula came to deeply resent humanity; he no longer considered them peasants, but now considered them all animals that he could no longer tolerate. He would later admit that she was the only true love he had ever known. Immediately after Lisa's bones burned to ash, Dracula rose from the flames of his wife and demanded an explanation. He was furious to learn that his wife had been killed out of unjust dogmatic stupidity, and even more furious when the bishop who ordered the execution denied Dracula's existence.

PERSONALITY

A year later, Dracula began his war of extermination, unleashing an army from Hell on Targoviste, ordering his army to kill all of humanity, and accepting his future eternity of endless hatred. Despite being on a quest for revenge to wipe out all of humanity, Dracula grows increasingly despondent as time passes, largely isolating himself from the rest of his court and leaving command of his army in the hands of his Forgemasters, Hector and Isaac. He does not care much for strategy, as long as all of humanity dies in the end, much to the discomfort of his generals. Only after becoming sufficiently angered was he willing to brutalize his son, but even in such a murderous rage, his love for his son shines through when, after reaching the room where he and his wife raised Alucard, Dracula finally snaps out of his murderous rage and is brought to tears upon realizing that he was killing the greatest treasure Lisa had ever given him.

PERSONALITY

Dracula has shown a certain level of inconsistency regarding his personality, although common elements have been a notable malice towards the human race and God, and a well-defined superiority complex (he considers all creatures to be inferior to him) when confronting his enemies. When facing his son, Alucard, Dracula shows a softer side and a clear love for his son, and also expresses his undying love for Alucard's mother. After his death in 1797, Dracula becomes much more consistent and appears devoid of many emotions, although the hostility and superiority complex still remain. Some of his most consistent traits, however, are his profound cruelty and indifference to all the destruction he brings with him, while in some ways taking pleasure in the suffering he inflicts on others. He also justifies his actions by claiming that it is not because of his power that he returns, but because of the humans' malice that makes his return possible, going as far as to question whether he is truly "evil" because of it. Despite having been challenged and defeated numerous times by the Belmont Clan, he always seems to toy with them first before using his full power, possibly underestimating them while at the same time enjoying his battles with the family, something he mentions from time to time, as he even eagerly awaits his next encounter against the Belmonts after being defeated.
