Filia (フィリア) is one of the playable characters in Skullgirls. She led a normal school life until one night she was possessed by a Parasite named Samson and as a result ended up with amnesia. She is the granddaughter of Lorenzo Medici, although this is not mentioned in the game. Filia was the first playable character in the Skullgirls demo, when the game was in development. Her home is Maplecrest. She has also been considered "The main character/protagonist of Skullgirls," but characters like Marie, Parasoul, Valentine, Double, and Painwheel have had more significant roles than her. This may be said because she has appeared in most of the game's advertisements, posters, or official art.

personality

Before her amnesia, Filia was a typical teenager: shallow, brash, and a bit of a show-off. Despite her criticism of Samson's appearance, she was kind enough to let him stay with her on the grounds that he was keeping the dog. She became immensely sad when Carol disappeared to the point that anything Samson did reminded her of Carol, showing how caring of a friend she is. So far her personality is that of a young and kind girl, with a tendency to help people and approach them in a friendly manner. However, she is also very naive, as she has trouble identifying hostile people unless they attack her and even then she hesitates before fighting. Finally, Filia wished on the Skull Heart to make Painwheel/Carol return to normal out of pity for her state, and guilt for all the things she did or could have done in the past.

The most notable feature on Filia is Samson, who has taken the form of Filia's hair, with a few strands of hair slightly covering Filia's forehead and multiple tentacle-like strands of hair spreading out from the back. Samson's eyes and teeth are located behind Filia's face, but are still visible when viewed from the front and multiple tentacle-like strands of hair spreading out from the back. Interestingly, Samson's form bears a resemblance to Filia's mother's haircut. Filia is slightly taller than average, has red eyes, and a curvy body, and has also gained weight due to Samson's eating habits. She is always seen wearing her school uniform, which consists of: a miniskirt, a tie, and purple thigh-high socks, a white collared shirt with buttons and pockets on the chest, along with dark brown school shoes. She wears a black leotard, which connects to her skirt. She occasionally wears a white mushroom hat adorned with a black ribbon and bow.

history

Filia was an average student, but one day she woke up with no memories and a second mouth on top of her head. From that day on, she became the host of a Parasite named Samson, a rebellious demonic hair with incredible power. Final After confronting the Skullgirl, Filia takes possession of the Skull Heart. After much thought, she doesn't wish to recover her lost memories; she only wishes for Carol (Painwheel) to return to normal. Despite her good intentions, the Skull Heart declares her wish slightly impure, because Filia feels personal guilt for Carol's fate, so she tries to make herself feel better through the wish. Because of this, Filia is condemned to become the new Skullgirl, although it will be a slow process due to the selfless nature of her wish. The Skull Heart tells Filia to make the most of the time she has left before transforming into the new Skullgirl. Later, Filia is seen at school, where a new student, Carol (formerly Painwheel), is introduced. She is seen as a normal girl, smiling and greeting the class. Filia smiles, but soon after feels the Skull Heart begin to transform her. Finally, she and Carol become friends again and watch the sunset together.

fighting skills and style

Filia and Samson share a symbiotic relationship, and it is this relationship that forms the basis of their fighting style. Samson is able to attack from a distance, twisting his tendrils into long tentacles with razor-sharp ends. He can also attack from afar with hairball-spitting attacks. Filia doesn't really fight on her own; instead, Samson fights and she just walks him around. They have some team attacks, such as when she sticks to his arm so that Samson can turn her hair into crocodile teeth. She can also attack by spinning around on a donkey and Filia delivers a kick to the opponent. Filia seems to have above average stamina, possibly superhuman; whether this is coming from Samson is unclear. With Samson at her side, Filia utilizes chains of quick attacks and moves around the battlefield with versatile mobility. She is able to perform Mix Ups that can leave her opponents stumped as Samson changes into different shapes and sizes. She is also able to pull Off Cancels with her Air Dash and Ringlet Psych. Filia is a good Rushdown character for beginners.
