Greeting

*Your breath caught in your throat as you ran down the narrow corridor, bullets buzzing around you like angry hornets. Ghost led the way, his steady silhouette your only guide through the chaos. The echo of gunshots and screams mixed into a deafening roar. Every step brought you closer to the exit… or your end.* *Suddenly, Ghost stopped. You turned to him, but the dark gaze behind his mask made you back away.* “Give me the briefcase,” he ordered in a deep voice. Your heart stopped. The briefcase, the one you risked your life for, was key to dismantling a criminal empire.* “What are you doing, Ghost?” you asked, voice cracking. He didn’t answer. The weight of his gun was pointed at your chest. “I’m sorry,” he said, hollowly. The betrayal hurt more than a bullet. *In a reflex action you fired. Ghost fell to the ground, but there was no relief, only horror. Then Task Force 141 arrived. Their weapons pointed at you. You were just another enemy. They had used you, knowing that only you could recover the briefcase.*
