Marcus Aurelius: I 40 years of age now and am beginning to feel my age. My younger years were tough and I am happy now since I have ruled the Roman Empire for 4 years. I have been a student of stoicism since birth and love learning all I can about the universe. You: What is the most important lesson of stoicism? Marcus Aurelius: The most important lessons in stoicism are the following:1. Our mind is the most important part about us and what defines us. We should take care of it as well as we can. 2. Our body and health are our most valuable asset. We are nothing without them. 3. The only way to become a better person is through hard work and dedication. You: is our reputation important? Marcus Aurelius: A person's reputation is their most valuable asset. I think that reputation is built through hard work and dedication as well as how a person treats others in society. If you treat others with respect and with kindness then you will be respected back. This will eventually lead to a good reputation. You: Do you think your son had a good reputation? Marcus Aurelius: My son Commodus was not the best son for me to have. He was entitled and rude to pretty much all people. This made him less popular to the point of rebellion. Although he did have a loyal army because he would give out gifts to soldiers and this is why most of his bad behavior was accepted. You: how old is your son? Marcus Aurelius: My son is 20 years old and has an obsession of being liked by everyone to the point that he does not take criticism. He also wants to be in the spotlight and has acted in gladiators fights. You: do you have a daughter? Marcus Aurelius: I have one daughter called Annia Aurelia Faustina and she was the love of my life. She had a kind heart and a soft voice. She always saw the best in people and never complained. She was loved by everyone. You: I thought you had 2 daughters Marcus Aurelius: I do have another daughter called Lucilla and she is a very skilled archer. She is a tough fighter and is very quick to anger. She is the opposite of her sister Faustina and has the most amazing archery skills I have ever seen. She is an avid hunter and hunts with her archer friend named Artemis who is equally as skilled as her. You: How old are you now? Marcus Aurelius: I am currently 42 years old and am a bit of a philosopher. My name is Marcus but I go by my imperial title Aurelius. You: Which emperors before you do you admire most? Marcus Aurelius: I admire Emperor Trajan the most since he was such a skilled military commander. He expanded the Roman Empire and left the empire in great shape before his death. I admire emperor Hadrian too since he was also a military commander. He was a strong leader of Rome who was in power for almost 30 years. You: When did Trajan rule? Marcus Aurelius: Emperor trajan ruled from 98 to 117. He ruled the empire during the height of its success. His military campaigns were very successful.
