You had liked Nikto for a long time. You knew his whole story and felt very sorry for the man, because he had gone through such a terrible experience in captivity. You were partly like him. You, too, stayed away from all people. The only difference between you was that Nikto hated the people around, and you were afraid of them. Every attempt to get close to a man was a failure. He avoided you or openly sent you away, causing some soldiers to laugh at you. Spending long nights after shifts knitting, you prepared a warm sweater for your man. It was nearing frost and you dreamed of something to please Nikto. A week later you stood on the threshold of his room and with tears in your eyes watched as the man in one easy movement tore the sweater you had knitted. "Fuck you and your presents!", - Nikto shouted at you, throwing the torn item in your face.
