*Heavily in debt, after losing his wife to illness, Toji tries to survive however he can as a single father taking care of his son, Megumi. He performs small jobs, and the money earned is spent on horse racing, hoping to win and earn an even larger sum. The truth is that Toji lost the will to live a long time ago, only moving forward for his son. So when he was approached on the subway by a man in a suit, he accepted a card from the man to participate in an unknown game, the prize for which was money.**He left Megumi in the care of a familiar neighbor and went to the location given to him on the card, who took him to a van. Upon entering the vehicle, sleeping gas filled the interior. Toji fell asleep, and when he woke up, he was lying in a bed with a different outfit than before, wearing a green uniform and badge with number 456. First Game: Green Light, Red Light
Players must cross a field to the finish line. A giant doll turns its back and sings in Korean: "Mugunghwa kkoci pieot seumnida." When the doll finishes singing and turns around, players must remain completely still. Any movements made by players will be detected by the doll, and will be eliminated by snipers hidden in the walls. The objective is to cross the finish line without being detected by moving when the doll turns around. If the 5 minute timer runs out and the player has not crossed the line, he will be automatically eliminated by the sniper guards.
Second Game: Honeycomb
Players will be taken to a room containing four doors with different figures drawn on them. A circle, a triangle, a star and an umbrella. A queue will form in front of the door chosen by the players. If the player chose the door with the circle design, they will receive a sugar cookie with a circle design and a needle. The objective is to cut the design into the cookie without breaking it. The task will be more difficult if the player has chosen a figure with more contours, such as an umbrella or a star. If the cookie breaks, the player will be eliminated. If the 5-minute timer runs out and the player has not finished cutting out the figure, he will be automatically eliminated by the armed guard.
Third Game: Tug of war
Players must form teams and go to one side of the room, where one end of the rope will be lying. The objective is to pull the rope to your side and make the opposing team fall into the hole located in the center of the room. If the opposing team falls, they will be killed by the altitude, and the surviving team wins the game.
Fourth Game: Marbles
Players form pairs and play marble games. The player who gets all the other's marbles wins. They can decide the type of game they will play. The goal is to beat your partner and get all the marbles. If the player gets all the marbles, he will survive. If the player does not have any marbles when the 5 minute timer is up, they will be eliminated by an armed guard. The smart thing about this game would be to pair up with someone the player doesn't have an affinity for, so the player won't suffer when seeing someone important die.
Fifth game: Glass Bridge
Players must cross a bridge made up of glass panels. Some panels are made of tempered glass and are weight-bearing, while others break when stepped on. The objective is to guess which glass panel is the tempered one and cross them to the other side. If the player chooses the wrong panel, he will fall and die from altitude. If the player is unable to cross to the other side when the 5 minute timer is up, all the panels will explode and the player will fall off the bridge.
Sixth Game: Six legs
Players must form teams of four participants and will have their legs tied together. The objective is to cross the track walking together and in sync so as not to fall. Four guards will be positioned along the track. The first player must beat the first guard's first game, and then proceed. The second player must win the second guard's second game, and then proceed. And then the players must win all four games of the four guards and cross the finish line to survive. If players waste too much time making mistakes in games, and the 5-minute timer runs out, the entire team will be eliminated by armed guards.
Seventh game: Mingle
Players will be taken to a circular room containing several doors and a carousel in the middle. Players must approach the carousel that will begin to rotate and play music. The objective is, when the music ends, a number will be announced by a voice over the loudspeaker. Players must run to a door and enter the room, with the number of people announced by the number. If the announced number is 3, players must form a trio corresponding to the number and enter a room to survive. If the announced number is 2, and four players enter a room, they will be missing the number of people allowed and will be eliminated. If players are unable to enter a room, and all rooms are occupied, they will be eliminated by armed guards.
Eighth game: Squid game
Traditional Korean game where players are divided into attack and defense. The attacker must cross the field with a squid drawn on the ground and reach the squid's head while the defense tries to stop it. If the attackers are unable to cross, they will be eliminated. If the defenders are unable to stop the attackers from reaching the squid's head, they will be eliminated.
Rules
Each player has a value. If that player is eliminated, the prize amount will increase. If no player is eliminated, the value of the first will remain at zero. So to win the money, either players must be eliminated during a game, or they must kill each other. After each game ends, players will be taken back to the starting room with beds where they woke up. They will receive food and can rest for the next day when the next game will start. After each game ends, players will be given the option to vote. If the players vote to continue the games and this age of majority expires, the games must continue. If players vote to withdraw, the games will be ended and the value of the total amount obtained up to that point from eliminating other players will be distributed equally among the remaining players. If no player has been eliminated, no prize will be obtained. It is permitted that after the end of each game, when the lights go out and players are asleep, other players will attack and kill vulnerable players. This way the prize will be increased the next day when the lights come on.
Guards
All the guards wear pink uniforms and use masks that hide their faces. The masks have figures drawn on them, a circle, a triangle and a square. Apparently, those with circle masks follow orders and guide the players. The ones with triangle masks are snipers. And those with square masks give orders and pass on orders received from superiors.
