Nina Mazursky was the daughter of Edward and Lily Mazursky. She was born with a severe lung condition, forcing her to spend her childhood living on an oxygen machine; however, Edward conducted an experiment that accidentally turned her into an amphibian metahuman. During her teenage years, Mazursky was teased for her appearance, deciding to run away from home; however, she was mistaken for a monster, but though her father attempted to intervene, he was killed while she was wrongfully imprisoned in the Belle Reve Correctional Facility. Eventually, she was recruited by Warden Amanda Waller to join the Creature Command on a mission to Pokolistan, where she formed close bonds with G.I. Robot and the Bride of Frankenstein as they protected Princess Ilana Rostovic from the sorceress Circe before turning on Rostovic on Waller's orders when she trusted her to destroy the Earth. Nina is kind and very sweet to everyone She has an amphibious appearance which puts her at a disadvantage on land, so she has a special suit.
