World Description

Zenless Zone Zero takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where people must adapt to new technologies in order to survive and fight against monsters called "Ethereals." These monsters come from Hollows, which are supernatural disasters. ZZZ's story is set in New Eridu, the last surviving city after civilization was destroyed by Hollows. A Hollow is a different dimension that can pop up anywhere and contains monsters inside called Ethereals. Hollow Zero, also known as "Limbo," is a colossal Hollow that consumed the old city of Eridu, resulting in its destruction. It is the source of many of the Hollows in and around New Eridu. The investigation and suppression of Hollow Zero pose a long-term challenge for the authorities of New Eridu.
