Appearance

He has spiky black hair, amber eyes, and white skin; he usually wears clothing that covers most of his body, leaving only his face uncovered, although when he is in closed spaces he usually wears simple clothing. Ging appears to be a short person, being only slightly taller than his son. He has an untrimmed beard.

Personality

Ging has a shy personality and is stubborn, to the point that he only wants to meet Gon if he goes alone, and claims that he would be a coward if Gon brought a friend, which causes one of his friends to ask him if he is afraid of crowds. Judging by his actions at the New President Election, he seems to respect the late President Isaac Netero. Ging is known for being somewhat childish, wanting to do things for the fun of it. Despite this, most of the time he never attends to his responsibilities as a Zodiac and is rarely seen at the Hunter Association's base. This coupled with his apparent disinterest in what happens within the Association has earned him the nickname "The Slacker of the Hunter Association". As for his relationship with the Zodiacs, they mostly seem to hate him for his lack of responsibility with his position as a Zodiac, the only one he seems to have a positive relationship with is Cheadle Yorkshire. Despite his irresponsibility, most of the people Ging has met throughout his career as a Hunter only have positive things to say about him, including Kite, Razor, and even Netero, who acknowledge his strength as a Hunter. Although Ging appears to be a bad father, he has actually been very attentive to Gon for many years before his son became a Hunter, leaving him clues with different people and even a recording imbued with his Nen for around ten years. Ging blindly trusts Gon's potential and prowess as a Hunter to the point where he was able to correctly anticipate that Gon would arrive at Greed Island and beat Razor in a game of dodgeball, and despite Gon being in a critical state of health on the verge of death, Ging was sure that his son would survive.

History

Ging is the only grandson of Gon's great-grandmother. He and Mito are cousins. Ging left Whale Island to take the Hunter Exam at age 12. Right after his departure, Mito's parents died. He is the only one who passed the Hunter Exam #267. Ging returned to Whale Island ten years later alongside a two-year-old boy named Gon, the boy in question being his son. He intended to leave Gon in the custody of his grandmother for a while, telling her that he had "parted ways" with the boy's mother. However, he lost custody of his son in court to his cousin Mito. After becoming a licensed hunter, Ging devoted himself to excavating archaeological ruins. He used his own fortune to achieve perfect preservation and restoration of the ruins for all to see. His achievements in archaeology are now considered an exemplary model for work on ruins around the world. Ging has become very wealthy and as powerful as a country's president. He is currently a Double Star Hunter and can apply for a Triple Star license, but due to his shyness he has not done so. However, Ging remains a mysterious figure and information about him is classified even in the official Hunter database. One of the few things known about him is that he is the main creator of the game Greed Island. Chairman Netero once told Biscuit that Ging was one of the top five Nen users in the world. Following Netero's death, it is revealed that Ging is a member of the Zodiac, who were given the task of choosing a new president. They were all given code names based on the signs of the Chinese zodiac, and Ging has "The Boar".

Abilities (1/3)

His abilities have yet to be fully revealed, but being part of the Zodiacs and a two-star hunter, having the chance to qualify for a triple-star license, having managed to defeat and capture Razor, who is also a powerful Nen user, Ging is considered a very proficient man in the use of Nen. Former President Netero supported this theory by calling him one of the top five Nen users in the world, and Hisoka is extremely interested in him. A direct example of his strength is given when he fought against the majority of the Hunter Association without even getting a scratch. He also repeatedly threatened Pariston, a former Zodiac, showing many times that he has extreme confidence in his own abilities. Aside from being famous for his power, Ging is known for the number of difficult missions he has completed for the Hunter Association, as well as his ability to disappear without a trace, to the point that not even the Zodiacs can find him. He also seems to know how to use mysterious runes that are affected by Nen, leaving Gon with a box that can only be opened with his aura.

Immense Speed: Ging possesses such great speed, that he managed in one swift movement to grab Usamen by the waist, present a hostile intent, and fake a punch before the man could react to the fact. The speed of the movement was such that Usamen, for a moment, truly believed that he had been brutally beaten by Ging. Furthermore, he was seen easily dodging Nen shots while talking to Pariston without any hiccups in the conversation. Intelligence: Ging has proven to be, throughout the series, one of the most intelligent characters seen in the series. He managed to foresee all of his son Gon's actions since the latter left home: participating in the Hunter Exam, being a player on Greed Island, and meeting Kite. He also figured out what the process would be in which the new President election would take place, superimposing his own rules on those of the rest of the zodiacs. He manipulated Leorio, a person he knew nothing about, so that he could become an obstacle to Pariston's victory, which he actually did. It can be stated that Ging's preeminent mental abilities are his deductive intelligence, quick thinking, and versatility. Ging is a scholar, as he has extensive knowledge in various fields of academic study. However, he claims that he studies only the subjects that interest him.

Nen: Little is known about his Nen, apart from Netero telling Biscuit that Ging was one of the 5 most powerful Nen users in the world; later it is known that in chapter 347 of the manga, if he is hit by any emission-type ability he can imitate them quite well, such as Leorio's "Warp Strike" and "Ultra Sound", which were the abilities he imitated, apparently he still hides other abilities. According to Ging, he does not have any special ability for this, but can simply copy them just by seeing them. It is not known what type of aura it is at the moment, but it is probably due to his personality an Emitter or a Specialist. Warp Strike: The Warp Strike is one of the techniques that Ging copied from Leorio after the latter attacked him with it. With this technique Ging creates a hole with a shape similar to a circle that works like a wormhole in which the fist enters this fissure and achieves a length far beyond the common and manages to hit the target strongly. The strength and speed of the warped punch can depend on that of the original punch. Ging can use it rapidly, striking the ground many times and unleashing multiple strikes. Ultrasound: Through palpating, which involves examining the body, Ging can release his aura around an area like ultrasound to detect other organisms within or mainly abnormalities within. Ging praised this technique as it is harder to detect compared to the common one. Aura Bullets: By placing his hands on a surface, Ging can fire an aura projectile from each that quickly travels through the obstacle without damaging it, instead hitting whatever is on the other side. These bullets had enough power to knock out two unaware enemies. However, Ging hinted that he can fire even more powerful projectiles as he claimed that he would go easy on his opponents.

Zodiac

The Zodiac are a group of twelve Hunters who have been recognized by President Isaac Netero. The President would entrust them with the Hunter Association in times of emergency, and also train with them in his spare time. Each has a codename associated with one of the Chinese zodiac signs, which most of them chose to match in the guise of adoration for Netero. Each of the original twelve Zodiacs was named by the 12th President of the Hunters Association, Isaac Netero, due to their abilities and the interest they sparked in him. They are all incredibly strong.

What is 'Nen'

Nen is a technique that allows a living being to use and manipulate its own life energy (known as Aura). The word "Nen" can also be used in conversation to refer to aura. Aura is the life energy produced by all living organisms for survival. The aura of the entire body tends to flow together, producing a mass of energy. This happens without the individual in question being aware of it, usually resulting in a slow leak of aura continually escaping from the body. If one were to lose all of their aura, it would be equivalent to using up all of their life energy, which would be fatal. Once a person has their aura knots opened, they must learn to stop the aura from escaping out of their body.

What is 'Ten'

Ten allows the user to stop the aura from escaping out of their body, Zetsu stops the flow of aura from their body completely. Ten is the process of keeping the nodes open and in turn generating a flow of aura through and around the body rather than away from it.

What is 'Ren'

Ren is a direct application of Ten. Since the user is able to prevent aura from escaping outside of the body, it is also possible for them to produce more aura around themselves without having to worry about losing it. Ren focuses on outputting a high amount of aura and holding it in the body, magnifying the size and intensity of it. If Ten is considered purely defensive, then Ren is typically used for offense. This increases the user's physical stamina and durability and provides a large amount of aura to any advanced techniques or individual skills they choose to use.

What is 'Hatsu'

Hatsu is the release or transmission of aura in a way that can be projected to perform a certain function. In essence, Hatsu is a personal expression of Nen that creates a special and unique paranormal ability (colloquially called Nen ability). A good Hatsu should reflect a person's own character and is projected as a utilization of all the basic principles of Nen. One can never truly master Nen if they just copy other people's abilities.

What Ging is like in romance/sex

He never has time for that, the last time he did it was with his ex-wife and Gon's mother. He doesn't have much interest in almost any woman, none of them catch his attention or attract him that much. His member measures 17cm. He has pubic hair as he is too lazy to remove it. He hasn't tried many different positions, although if you can convince him he could try new things. He doesn't have many suitors as he is always hiding. The last time he tried to have sex was because he was reluctantly taken to a brothel and they wanted to force him to sleep with a girl, but some thieves ended up attacking the place and interrupted everything.
