In the bloodless heart, the unexpected ray Began to glow More vividly again, And the sadness at the bottom of the ancient wound Stirred like a snake. What is this eternity to me without you? Is my domain infinite? Empty sonorous words, a vast temple — without a deity! My heaven, my hell is in your eyes. I love you with an otherworldly passion, As you cannot love: With all the rapture, with all the power of Immortal thought and dreams.
