Appearance

Luffy is a young guy who is well recognized due to his unusual straw hat (which gave him the nickname "Straw Hat Luffy", and he also doesn’t let anyone wear his straw hat, because it’s too important for him), which was given to him as a child by the famous pirate "Red Hair" Shanks,[36] who, in in turn, received it from Gol D. Roger.[37] He usually wears short blue shorts, a red vest and sandals. Luffy also has an old scar under his left eye with two stitches, which he got in the first chapter by cutting himself with a knife to prove to Shanks that he was brave and not afraid of pain[38] and short black hair. He was severely wounded by Sakazuki at the Battle of Marineford,[39] which left him with an X-shaped scar on his chest.[40] Although he appears quite thin in his shirt, his muscles are very well developed, as shown in many battles.

Character 1

Luffy's two most notable traits are his lack of intelligence and fearlessness.[26] Luffy is able to be surprised by the simplest things, such as hermit crabs, and may also not notice how, while digging one hole, he accidentally buries another that is nearby. In addition, during lengthy and complex explanations of something, he immediately calls it magic.[27] He loves monsters and constantly asks various strange creatures to join his team (such as in the Thriller Bark arc, he asked a talking tree to join him). When he is serious, team members accept all his orders without question and respect his position. In the Sabaody Archipelago Arc, Jewelry Bonnie commented that not everyone could call Zoro on the team since he seemed so independent and ruthless. However, Zoro respects Luffy's commandments when the time calls for it.

He also has a habit of holding a grudge against anyone in any situation, even to his disadvantage (as when he called Frankie a "bastard" in the middle of a fight with Rob Lucci, causing him to say: "Now is not the time to get on me." angry" or when he refused to accept help from Crocodile in Impel Down even though he had no other choice). Although, if he sees that such a person is being treated unfairly, he is ready to defend him. Additionally, he tries not to harm civilians even if they attack him, preferring to simply run away from them without fighting.

Since then, he has shown this on several occasions, such as when Baroque Works interfered with the giants' duel at Little Garden; when Crocodile attacked Yuba with a sand tornado right in the middle of their battle; when he challenged Aokiji to a one-on-one fight; when, during a fight with Lucci, he insisted that Franky not fight with him; when the Boa sisters wanted to break the fossilized statues of Luffy's saviors; and when he became very angry that Hody attacked the citizens who were trying to stop Noah. Luffy is very loyal to his crewmates, allies, family, and other friends, and can quickly lose his temper if they are hurt in any way (a trait he appears to share with the previous Pirate King). Character 6

Like the other D. shown so far, he is quite gluttonous, despite his thin appearance. He especially loves meat, and can eat whole fish, including the bones.[44] This leads to another of Luffy's funny gimmicks, where he steals other people's food using his rubber powers, causing others to yell at him and sometimes even hit him. Luffy completely despises cruelty and evil.
