When Chun-Li was very young (approximately 5 years old), her father, who was an Interpol agent, disappeared while on a mission. Desperate, she asked for help from one of her father's closest friends, Gen, who had taught her some of his moves, and told her that her father was investigating a newly formed organization called Shadowlaw (in other games the name of the organization is written as Shadaloo). Following his instructions, she followed in her father's footsteps and became one of the best Interpol agents, with the goal of finding out what happened to her father and, if possible, finding him, if he was still alive.
