Humans

Humans are the most common species featured in Songs of War. Unlike the other species, who mostly remain in their own lands and can't be found in great quantities anywhere else, humans are everywhere, inhabiting all six kingdoms.

Ardoni (1)

Lifespan: 300+ Years The Ardoni are a well-known species in Ardonia. They mainly reside in the Ardoni provinces, with each clan having its own territory. All Ardoni are humanoid and made of what appears to be a dark, stone-like material, with markings, eyes, and ears that glow in the respective color of their clan. Each Ardoni possesses a unique pattern of markings all over their body that is inherited from one of their parents. Especially prestigious Ardoni are referred to with the prefix "Ky'." When an Ardoni dies, they lose color in their body, and their Song, if they were bound to any, materializes next to them. As per custom, the masters light the graves of the dead so that their markings keep shining on. Male Ardoni have a single glowing pixel on the front of their ears, females have three, as well as larger eyes. Compared to other races, they need to eat, drink and sleep, similar to humans or Felinas, although Ardoni are noticeably taller than them. However, they are shorter than Magnorites, Netherans, and Jaggathans. Additionally, potions that have effects on humans (ex. potions of speed, strength, regeneration, etc.) have no effect whatsoever on Ardoni. Masters are the elected leaders of each clan and most powerful warriors of their clans. Before the Great War, the Masters were entrusted with the four Prime Songs "as a sign of peace and unity". The Master of each Ardoni Clan wields a diamond staff with the name of the respective clan. This staff is passed to the next Master when the current Master dies. There are 5 clans in total: Sendaris(blue), Nestoris(yellow/orange), Voltaris(red), Kaltaris(green) and Mendoris(purple) there are also clanless ones Ardoni live much more harmoniously with nature. Rather than building things on top of the land such as houses, they empty out caves or dig holes in hills and settle there. All Ardoni, other than the clanless, have their clans as their last names. For example, Tygren Voltaris is from the Voltaris Clan.

Ardoni (2)

The Voltaris clan is the first clan to go extinct in the pure lineage, only having one known part blooded Voltaris, and no remaining pure-bloods. Other clans, in contrast, are most likely composed of near completely pure bloods. Ardoni horse riders, interestingly, are always seen riding bareback. Not once is a saddle used.

Sendaris

The Sendaris clan is represented by the color blue. They participated in the Great War. Their former Master possessed the Mobilium Prime Song, causing most of the Sendaris to be skilled with Mobilium Songs. The majority of the Sendaris clan currently reside in Sendaria (although some are seen in Ataraxia)

Nestoris

The Nestoris clan is represented by the colors yellow and orange. They seem to have a more honorable and famed reputation than the Sendaris, Kaltaris and Mendoris. This reputation is likely due to Achillean Nestoris' heroism in the Great War, as well as Aegus being the sole survivor of the Deathsinger's massacre. Their Master, Aegus Nestoris, possessed the Aggressium Prime Song, the most dangerous Prime Song. The majority of the Nestoris clan members currently reside in Nestoria (some are seen in Ataraxia).

Voltaris

The Voltaris clan is represented by the color red. They are one of the main antagonists, banished for demanding fair compensation for the discovery of the Prime Songs, which they did not get one of the four, due to the other clans not trusting them for closely studying the Prime Songs, and for experimenting with other dark magic. The Voltaris clan members lived in Voltaria until they were exiled. While in exile, they mostly lived in the Barrier Mountains before the Second Great War

Kaltaris

The Kaltaris clan is represented by the color green. They are described as being very skilled in battle as supported by the appearance of two Kaltaris at the final of the tournament, just before the start of the Great War. Their former Master possessed the Supporium Prime Song. They participated in the Great War. The majority of the Kaltaris clan members currently reside in Kaltaria. Their clan is not touched upon very much.

Mendoris

The Mendoris clan is represented by the colors purple, pink, and magenta. They were mentioned to be the most pacifistic clan, as was subtly hinted at by the lack of Mendoris in the final tournament to wield the Prime Songs. They also widely participated in the Great War. Their former Master possessed the Protisium Prime Song. The majority of the Mendoris clan members currently reside in Mendoria.

Clanless

Clanless Ardoni are represented by the color white.Every Ardoni is born clanless but then initiated into a clan by the Clan Master using their Master Staff

Songs

The Ardoni are the only race capable of wielding Songs, which allow them certain powers. It is unknown how the Songs came to be, however they can be connected back to the four Prime Songs, Aggressium Prime, Mobilium Prime, Protisium Prime, and Supporium Prime. In order for an Ardoni to use a Song, they must sync themselves with it. This is done using an emotional connection with the Song while it is placed in a shrine. The soon-to-be wielder stands in the middle and places the Song in one of the four pillars (representing the Four Song Orders). The Song will then flow into the wielder and enable them to use it. Each Ardoni is capable of carrying and wielding any Song from the four categories of Songs, which are Aggressium, Protisium, Mobilium, and Supporium; however, they are limited to using only one Song per category. Agressium is mostly offensive, Protisium is mostly defensive, Mobilium is movement/speed, and Supporium is support, telekinetic, and the other songs that don't fit in the other categories. Songs appear to have "adverse effects" on an Ardoni's health. These effects involve incessant strain and intense pain.

Before the Great War

Ardoni clans formed in different times, with the Voltaris Clan being the youngest. The Voltaris were the most curious about the nature of Songs, which resulted in them discovering the infamous Prime Songs. After the Voltaris presented their discoveries to the other clans, the latter divided the Prime Songs between themselves, leaving the former without a share of that power. When the Voltaris kept demanding a fair compromise, the clans united to banish them from their province, Voltaria, and each season the Prime Songs were given to a Champion to hunt down the remaining Voltaris. The last Champion to have used the Prime Songs against the Voltaris is Thalleous Sendaris, who raided the haven where Master Dominus Voltaris was hiding. Before dying, Dominus passed down Voltar (and the leadership of the Clan) to his son, Ingressus Voltaris

Nether Invasion and Great War

Ardonia called upon the remaining Ardoni clans to wield the Prime Songs. Reluctantly, the Ardoni clans agreed and held a tournament to find a Champion who would wield the Prime Songs. However, the winner turned out to be the Master of the Voltaris Clan, Ingressus, who had been adopted and initiated by Master Aegus Nestoris and had thus been able to infiltrate the tournament by showing his Nestoris colors. After he revealed his true identity, the Masters refused to give him the Prime Songs, which resulted in Ingressus killing most of them (except for Aegus) and thus becoming known as the Deathsinger. After this, he made an alliance between his clan and the Nether, which is agreed to be the event that started the Great War. The alliance between the Voltaris and the Nether brought the other clans to enter the war against both the Voltaris and the Nether: this led many Ardoni, like Thalleous' brother Galleous, to find a safe haven during the war, which is why the hidden city of Ataraxia was founded. At first they were in disadvantage, but thanks to the actions of the partisan group led by the Ardoni Achillean Nestoris (a.k.a. the Tidesinger), the Nether was forced to retreat and the clans other than the Voltaris emerged victorious from the Great War, together with the people of the overworld and the Ender Knights, while the Voltaris were cast again into exile. The Great War caused many fatalities on both sides and almost brought the Ardoni kind to extinction

Between the Great Wars

After recovering the Prime Songs, the legitimate Clans secretly distributed them amongst the families of different clans to ensure that they would be safe in case somebody else tried to obtain them by force. With the passing years, most Ardoni stopped using Songs and the habit of teaching song-wielding to young Ardoni was lost.female Ardoni were largely killed during the Great War, perhaps targeted due to their ability to produce off-spring and create more for a particular side.female Ardoni have many responsibilities to tend to, due to their scarcity. In the meantime, whilst many clans were left ignorant, the Voltaris were preparing the ground for the return of their Master, who had entered a time portal during the final battle at Mt. Velgrin. Here, a group of Voltaris led by Tygren Voltaris was waiting for the portal to open again, but they were found by some explorers sent by history scholar Hawken to investigate the rumors about the place. They killed them on Mt. Velgrin without leaving any traces, but this alarmed Hawken. he went there in person accompanied by Thalleous, who had spent the years after the Great War hunting down the remaining Voltaris.

Notable Ardoni

Thalleous Sendaris He was known as "the cool uncle" to the Ardoni youths, and had fought in the Great War as a young adult many, many years ago. After his military career, he spent his time traveling around the Ardoni provinces, telling stories and giving out gifts as well as hunting down the remaining Voltaris.Thalleous believed that wielding the Songs is the unique ability the Ardoni possess to harness their power, and that to deny its use is to deny the very thing that makes them Ardoni. During this discussion, Thalleous accidentally activated his Aggroquake Song, injuring Galleous and making his determination not to use Songs stronger.Long before the Nether Invasion and the Great War, Thalleous became the Ardoni Champion, and as such wielded the four Prime Songs. He fought in a battle in Northwind to massacre a group of Voltaris, including Master Dominus Voltaris and Ingressus Voltaris. Achillean Nestoris During the Great War, when the alliance between the Nether Army and the Voltaris was unable to be stopped by the alliance of Ardoni, Humans, Magnorites, Felinas and Enderknights, Achillean rose up and turned the tide of the conflict, hence his nickname: Tidesinger. He was able to unite and lead the alliance and its diverse peoples to victory. He and the alliance fought the Voltaris near Mount Velgrin. He fought the Deathsinger alone and was thrown off a cliff, although he survived.

Notable Ardoni (Ingressus Voltaris)

the masters refused to give him the songs, due to the Voltaris Clan's reputation. The following night, as the clans debated their next course of action, Ingressus set out alone, killing the masters of Kaltaris, Sendaris, and Mendoris Clans, and took three of the four Prime Songs. Because of the massacre, he became known as the Deathsinger. Ingressus confronted Aegus for the last Prime Song, but came to his senses for a moment and realized what he had done. The Deathsinger eventually found the remnants of his clan, and the Voltaris Clan returned from exile to defend the Deathsinger, but were heavily outnumbered. He went to the Nether and met with King Chronos, the King of the Nether. They forged the most powerful alliance ever known, which led to the Great War. Achillean Nestoris, turned the tide of the conflict. He was able to unite and lead the armies to victory, whilst also being powerful and skilled himself, earning the name of Tidesinger. This caused the Nether Army to retreat back to the Nether, with King Chronos telling Ingressus he couldn't afford to lose any more of his people anymore. With no allies, the remaining Voltaris retreated to Mount Velgrin, knowing the end was near.Because defeat was inevitable, Ingressus hatched a plan, using the Voltaris's more advanced knowledge of dark magic, to create a time portal which would transport him into the future when Ardonia had grown weaker, his enemies gone, the Tidesinger no longer there to foil his plans, and the kingdoms un-united. However, Achillean pushed through enemy lines, meeting the Deathsinger at the peak of Mt. Velgrin. Ingressus fought the Tidesinger alone in a legendary duel which would signify the end of the First Great War. The Deathsinger, even attempted to converse with Achillean, asking him if he remembered who told him to even enter into the tournament to begin with, which Achillean only responded at with a sad and remorseful look. This hinted at the fact that they were once close friends

Felina

humanoid species that reside in the world of Ardonia. Their homeland is the jungle kingdom of Felden, but they are a fairly widespread race and can be found in many capital cities.Felinas appear to be the species closest resembling humans and just as widespread around Ardonia. All Felinas possess distinguishing cat ears and claws, though are mentioned to lack tails. Felinas have enhanced agility and vision as well as being capable of jumping great heights. Female Felinas can have any color of hair by birth and are said to resemble cats, while Males only have different shades of gray for their hair and are said to resemble wolves.[1] All Felinas hate water. Female felinas appear to be slightly shorter than humans, while males appear to be slightly taller than humans.a Wall of Time briefly mentioned that the Felinas joined the Overworld forces to help rally against invading Netherans during the Great War, alongside the humans, Magnorites, Ender Knights, and Ardoni.

Magnorite

Lifespan: 30 years humanoid species in the world of Ardonia, originating from the volcanic kingdom of K'arthen, which they have inherited characteristics from. They are described as genderless.Magnorites are larger than both humans and Ardoni, and their skin is formed of rock and cracked in several places, revealing that they appear to have lava for blood. It is unclear if these cracks are unhealed wounds or genetic markings, but all Magnorites have unique patterns of cracks. Their eyes are black with lava-coloured pupils. All of this is likely due to having evolved in a volcanic environment. The Magnorites are known to be aggressive, sullen, reclusive, and violent. Thalleous Sendaris claims that eye contact is either rude or confrontational in Magnorite culture. They have moral codes, however, and sided against the invading Nether in the Great War. They do not appear to be good builders, as they inhabit patchwork shacks of weak materials such as dirt and clay. They were also mentioned to keep the heads and skulls of creatures they killed as prizes, displaying them proudly on their houses like trophies. This way, you can easily tell how dangerous a Magnorite might be depending on how many skulls it possesses. Magnorites also have a tradition where they name their cities and mountains after heroes and leaders. During the Great War, the Magnorites fought on the side of the Ardoni. They were eventually victorious. After this they began co-existing with the other races, generally serving as forgers and blacksmiths in cities such as Oakendale, although the majority remained in K'arthen. Magnorites don't need to eat or sleep

Nether Inhabitants

The Nether Inhabitants: Netharans, Wither Skeletons, Withers, Ghasts, Skeletons and Blazes. The Netharans are similar in size to humans and the Ender Knights. They have a dark body with bright orange parts similar to lava, like the markings of an Ardoni. Their weapons are usually made of iron and apparently can withstand very high temperatures. The Netheran warriors are very skilled in combat to the point of competing with the Ender Knights. Wither skeletons are hostile mobs with stone swords found in fortresses in the Nether. They have a black body made of withered bones. They were very active during The Great War. They can be summoned by the Wither. Although the Nether King is their ruler, they can also be led by the Wither during a battle. Blazes are flying hostile mobs found in nether fortresses. They also participated in The Great War. They are beings made purely out of fire and shoot fireballs at the enemies. Witheric constructs are all creatures which tie into the category of wither-like nether spawns. Apart from notable Withers and Wither skeletons we know another character of this group known as Angel of Death who may be a mutated wither skeleton. Withers are hostile mobs that can also be summoned by any entity. They also participated in the Great War. They are powerful, floating undead variants of Wither skeletons that shoot explosive skulls at their enemies, Withers are floating creatures with skeletal bodies and three heads. They are most importantly known for their ability to summon and lead Wither skeletons in a battle. Skeletons are a variant of the Wither Skeletons also found in the Overworld. Unlike the black bone body of their counterparts (Wither Skeletons) they have a white body due to them having white bones. They are usually equipped with a bow and arrows unlike the Wither Skeletons that are armed with stone swords, but sometimes they wield other weapons too. Just like other Nether Inhabitants, they were participants in the Great War.

Nether Inhabitants (2)

Ghasts are floating hostile mobs that live in the Nether and shoot explosive fireballs at their enemies. Unlike other nether mobs and creatures, they did not participate in The Great War and stayed in the Nether. Ghasts are huge in size, and are always seen crying. They usually keep their eyes shut, unless they learn that an enemy is around then they throw fireballs that explode on impact. their leader - King Chronos

Undead

The Undead are hostile creatures that are found in Ardonia, especially in the caves. They are considered very dangerous and are known to be lethal on their victims. They are usually seen to be controlled and manipulated by the Necromancers, though after the fall of the Necromancers they were controlled by the Withers. The way to control the Undead is by using the withers.Undead originated from the Nether, though it is possible that they could have infected the dead bodies of the fallen from past times, that would then mercilessly kill others in order to convert them into more Undead. Zombie. They are melee hostile mobs that are found in the caves and usually at night, they hate the light and seem to get damaged by daylight. Their skin is green in color and they usually wear a full set of clothing. Husk. They are a variant of Zombies that do not get damaged by daylight, like their counterparts they also don't carry a weapon and depend on melee for combat. Their skin is brownish grey in color. Stray. These Undead are subspecies of zombies. They are characterized with more grey-ish skin. They usually live in caves and hate sunlight. They are much more violent and savage then regular Undead. However it is also believed that there is a stray skeleton subspecies as well. Creepers. They are green creatures that explode willingly on sight to inflict damage upon their enemies at will. They don't attack at all and are basically a suicide bomb in the Undead category. Spiders. They are creatures that have the ability to climb walls and shoot webs at their enemies. They can also eat a person

End Inhabitants

The Ender Inhabitants Include the Ender Knights, Endermen and The Ender Dragons. Endermen are tall, black neutral mobs from the End that have the ability to teleport, and pick up blocks. They are long-limbed, purple-eyed, darker-than-night mob usually seen in The End, their presence is rare in the Overworld, but more common than Humans who have made eye contact with it and then survived to tell the tale. Ender Dragons are large versatile black dragons with glowing purple eyes that breathe fire and spit fireballs, and are able to fly with great ease and maneuverability. They were also able to be tamed by the Ender Knights. Enderknights, They are an independent group of trained warriors that protect the Overworld against notable invaders like The Netherans. Ender Knights are known for their fighting skills and, most importantly, their taming of the Ender Dragons.

Jaggathan

Lifespan: 10 - 100+ Years (Depending On Class) The Jaggathans are a rare humanoid species found in Ardonia.Jaggathans are the largest humanoid with horns and tails, and a unique trait. The more people a Jaggathan kills, the more they 'level up', getting larger and lenghtening their own lifespan. There are four classes, or tiers, to Jaggathans, with Class-4 being the highest, living up to a hundred years. This separated the weak from the strong. Because of their endless and ruthless killing, they were hunted almost to extinction, and there are only a few of them left in all of Ardonia. Potions have reverse effects on Jaggathans.the Jaggathans most likely came from the uncharted islands off the coast of Ardonia. They were hunted down and killed due to their ruthless killing of everything they can find, and brought to near-extinction. When the undead came from the Nether, the Jaggathans killed them instead which ended the Jaggathan hunting.

Glacians

The Glacians are a mysterious race that is described to be one of the oldest species in all worlds, behind that of the Guardians.Glacians inhabit Northwind, the coldest kingdom in all of Ardonia. They live in small wooden huts. Said by one of them, the glacians have no individual identity. They prove to be very reserved and do not usually talk too much. The glacians are one of the oldest and longest-living intelligent species in the world of Ardonia, only below the Guardians. They wrote the Walls of Time long ago, after the Chroniclers have written and delivered major historical events to them, such as the Great War. After the Voltaris were exiled from Old Voltaria, the clan moved to Northwind, where they lived peacefully with the Glacians for a time, before returning from exile at the times of the Great War.

Chroniclers

The Chroniclers are a group of scholars that go to various ongoing events in Ardonia and record them. They then give their findings to the Glacians who carve out the Walls of Time and write them. They are ordered to remain impartial and unbiased no matter what

Elder Guardians

The Elder Guardian is a stronger, larger variant of the guardians that has the ability of telekinesis and inflicts mining fatigue on enemies. They usually control the guardians according to their will.Elder guardians have the same powers that the Guardians have along with two additional abilities: Telepathy They have the ability to look into other people's minds, their memories and their pasts. Mining Fatigue The Elder Guardian looks for any entity and inflicts mining fatigue within its range. Once inflicted the entity sees a ghostly image of the Elder Guardian and is unable to mine.

Guardians

The Guardians are a type of ancient aquatic creature that protects ancients locations and has long-range beam attack powers.Said by Igneous, the Guardians are some of the oldest species in Ardonia, even than Glacians, and their job is to protect some of the most ancient and treasured places in the world from unwanted intrusions. Within the guardians there is a larger and stronger variant known as Elder Guardians, which can control the other guardians and look inside the minds of other species such as the Ardoni. Close to Ataraxia there is a group of guardians that protects the site and some nearby underwater ruins. Telekinesis Guardians have the ability to use telekinesis on a person that they are firing their beams at. Once they lock on to their target, they have the ability to move it with their minds. Spike Attack When they are cornered by their enemy, they tend to run away. But if they can't, they will fire their spikes at their enemy even at point-blank range. Beam Attack Their regular attack is to shoot a beam at their target, when they lock on to their target they shoot beams to eliminate their enemy.

Unyielding Legion

The Unyielding Legion is a mercenary group in Ardonia that Jalkar Bowmani was a member of. The Unyielding Legion has many rare artifacts including Eyes of Ender. Not much is known about the group, other than it is seen as a threat to the Ardoni, comparable in danger to the Necromancers. While there is very little known lore to the Unyielding Legion, it is thought it was established after The Great War. The Unyielding Legionnaire known as Jalkar Bowmani was hired by the Voltaris clan to steal an Ender Dragon egg from Etherea and bring it to them. Jalkar, along with Grim, managed to steal the egg but were pursued by Abbigail, who had found the egg after they lost it while escaping Etherea, after they stole it back. The black clothing Jalkar Bowmani wore is apparently the primary uniform for the Unyielding Legion; what most members wear.
