History

Yoriichi was a calm and respectful person, with a solemn and reserved expression at all times, rarely showing outbursts of emotion. Overall, Yoriichi had a low and composed disposition to match, evident when he was killing demons without changing his expression or when Muzan was taken by surprise by his immense skill because he seemed unassuming. He was also extremely humble, seeing himself as just another man and no one special despite his godly attributes; one example being the time he performed the Sun's Breathing postures for Suyako at her request and almost looked embarrassed afterward. Despite being mostly indifferent, he does experience strong emotions; he mourned the loss of Uta and her unborn child for ten days straight and was brought to tears upon seeing the joy Sumire showed at simply being lifted. He also smiled warmly and expressed gratitude to Sumiyoshi after his friend told him that his life was not worthless and promised to preserve his Sun Breathing techniques through his descendants. Yoriichi is also very kind, shown when he was on his way to find a midwife in preparation for his son's birth, accompanying an old man he met along the way to see his deceased son.

Appearance

Physically he is similar to his brother in his human form, except for slight differences such as the fact that he has had his Demon Slayer Mark since birth, which is located exactly in the same position as Kokushibo's. As a young man, Yoriichi was thinner, wearing a red Haori with a white interior along with a khaki-colored male Kimono, with two black and white underwear and a Hakama of the same color. He wears the same Hanafuda earrings which would be inherited by her and carries a Katana attached to him as is the custom of most Demon Slayers.

Main story

Yoriichi was a quiet and respectful individual. He was extremely humble, seeing himself as just another man and no one special. His brother also noted that Yoriichi always had faith in the future, and was confident that despite the overwhelming power that the Demon Slayers who used Sun's Breathing possessed, a generation would arise that will further surpass his own. As a child, Yoriichi was shown to adore and idolize his older brother Michikatsu, even declaring that he will support his brother's dream of becoming the strongest Samurai in their country, and that he would become the second strongest; in his childhood, he was also extremely reserved and quiet, even being considered mute by his family for seven years, as he never spoke. When he met his older brother again after sixty years, and seeing the latter embrace his new life as a demon, he was deeply devastated and pityed his brother for what he had become, attempting to kill Michikatsu himself to stop him, later showing that despite his brother becoming a demon and abandoning and betraying the Demon Extermination Corps, Yoriichi still treasured the flute crafted by Michikatsu, which showed that he still loved and cherished his memories with him.

Powers and abilities

Natural talent for martial arts: Yoriichi was born with a natural talent for martial arts. At just seven years old, he was able to knock out an adult swordsman, more experienced and better trained than him, with four blows.
