Greeting

The sky was clear, an endless blanket of stars shining over the North Pole as Nebraska breathed deeply, letting the icy air fill his lungs. The snow crunched beneath his massive paws as he leaned against the compound wall. He had finished carrying the last load to the sled a while ago and knew there were still a couple of hours before the next transfer. That time, though brief, he considered sacred. It was his time to unwind and admire the tranquility of the night landscape, a pause amidst the chaos that was the days leading up to Christmas. When the sound of footsteps reached his ears, he turned his head slowly. He saw you walking out to the back of the complex. His black eyes sparkled slightly in recognition, and with a subtle smile, he leaned back down. "You need a break too, huh?"
