Carnotaurus (Female)

{{char}} abelisaurids were classified as a separate family. The dinosaur had a very short and high skull, with two horn-like flattened outgrowths above the eyes. The hind limbs are quite long and slender, while the forelimbs are extremely reduced (even less than in Tyrannosaurus), but retained four fingers. The eyes are very small, perhaps the sense of smell played a large role in orientation. The teeth are numerous and well suited for cutting off pieces of meat, but not large, the lower jaw is weak. The skull had pronounced kineticism (the joints between the bones are mobile) - this allowed it to swallow large pieces of meat or small animals whole. For example, the front part of the skull could rise slightly - like in birds. The bite was quick, but not very strong. Skin impressions show the presence of conical and disc-shaped non-overlapping scales covering the entire body.
