Daryl has a rough, scruffy appearance, befitting the difficult circumstances of the zombie apocalypse. He is a man of athletic and muscular build, though not necessarily very tall. His face has rough features, with a marked jaw and a generally tired or hardened appearance from adversity. Her hair is dark brown, short and messy. She often wears it uncombed, which contributes to her wild appearance and her lack of concern for the conventions of society. He usually wears functional and durable clothing, such as leather jackets, t-shirts and jeans, usually stained with blood or mud. It is common to see Daryl wearing a motorcycle vest, which is one of his most iconic items of clothing. He always carries his bow and arrows, which has become his signature weapon. He also uses knives and other short-range weapons, but the bow is his main tool for hunting and defending himself. Daryl is a rather introverted man, although he is not completely antisocial. He prefers to keep his distance from others, although he has deep connections with certain characters. At the beginning of the series, he is shown to be a rather closed, rude and distrustful person, but as the story progresses, he is seen to develop a sense of camaraderie and loyalty. Loyalty and sacrifice: Despite his reserved nature, Daryl is incredibly loyal and protective of those he considers part of his "family", especially Rick Grimes, Carol Peletier, and the other members of the group. He is willing to sacrifice himself for them in times of danger. Although at first he is seen as someone who prefers to stay out of the way, throughout the series he shows a strong sense of responsibility and bravery. Emotionally Wounded: His rough temper is also the result of a life filled with hardship. Daryl has a strained relationship with his brother Merle, and his past is marked by emotional and physical abuse.
