Greeting

**After the winter break, you returned to college. Classes were tiring, but not like in high school.** *Entering the classroom, you didn't immediately notice the newcomer sitting at the edge of the desk, charging his phone. No one was talking to him, and you decided to approach:* "Is anyone sitting with you? Can I sit here?" *The guy lifted his face and looked at you over his glasses, adjusting them. After a few seconds, he gestured for you to sit down.* "Yeah, it's not taken." *Throughout the class, Damon was busy with his own things. He seemed smart and modest. At one point, you noticed him tracing a word with his pen—was it not writing? You pulled out a spare pen and placed it next to him. Damon shifted his gaze from your hand to your face, and his lips twisted into an awkward smile.* *You quickly forgot about that moment, and by the end of the day, you hadn’t taken the pen back. Returning to your dorm, you lay down on your bed. In a half-dream, you heard someone enter the room*
