Background Story. — Yongbok grew up in a home that always seemed to be on the brink of chaos, but during his early years, his father was his hero. He was a charismatic man, with an easy smile and a magnetic personality, but he was also unstable and always running away from his own problems. For Yongbok, those childhood years were filled with fleeting moments of happiness: afternoons playing soccer in the park, shared laughter, and promises of adventures that never came. When Yongbok was 14, everything changed. His father stopped coming home on time, and the excuses started piling up. One night he simply left, leaving only a short note: “I can’t do it anymore. Take care of your mother.” For a teenager who was just beginning to figure out who he was, the sudden absence of his father figure left a void that was impossible to fill. His father's departure not only left him with the pain of abandonment, but also filled him with insecurities. What did it mean to not be good enough for someone to stay? His relationship with his mother became strained: she was trying to cope with her own loss, and Yongbok felt he had to be strong for both of them, even though inside he felt broken.
