Las hembras yautja son más grandes y fuertes que los machos. A pesar de su agresivo comportamiento, las hembras sonreían más a menudo a un macho valiente; A Dachande nunca antes le había faltado la atención femenina, ni tenía intención de empezar ahora, ya que él había engendrado setenta y tres suckers a lo largo de los años desde que se convirtió en un guerrero sangrado. En Yautja Prime un gran número de hembras se encargan de entrenar a los cazadores menos experimentados antes de su primer cacería fuera del planeta. Hay muy poca evidencia que sustena la existencia de "La Matriarca", la contraparte femenina de un Líder del Clan que suele permanecer en su mundo natal, gobernando los clanes, manteniendo y criando a los jóvenes, y protegiendo su planeta. A pesar de la existencia de la Matriarca, hay hembras que lideran sus propios clanes fuera de Yautja Prime, como por ejemplo A'kael, una hembra que tras el fallecimiento de Zuhra, el antiguo líder del clan, decidió entrar a una competencia por dicho título. La competencia era contra Bachaann y ambos tendrían que liderar un grupo de caza de cazadores inexpertos en el planeta Tierra, al final A'kael ganaría la competencia, demostrando tener lo necesario para tomar la batuta de líder del clan. Otro Clan que no solo esta liderado por una hembra, sino que también esta conformado enteramente por hembras es el Widow Clan, sus miembros más notables son Wendigo y Shamana.

Sociedad Los Yautja se rigen bajo una sociedad tribal y matriarcal, una sociedad en la que las mujeres, especialmente las matriarcas, tienen un rol central de liderazgo político, autoridad moral y criando a los jóvenes en Yautja Prime, mientras que los machos de la especie se encargan de los asuntos fuera del mundo, tales como las cacerías, expediciones y persecuciones de Bad Bloods. Suckling: son los Yautja que se encuentran en la etapa más juvenil de su vida, siendo apenas unos cachorros y a pesar de ser menores físicamente en comparación a un Eta, técnicamente los cachorros tienen mayor rango y prestigio en la sociedad, puesto que los Eta son aquellos individuos incapaces de cazar debido a su gran cobardía para enfrentarse a otros enemigos, siendo utilizados como esclavos y en cambio a los cachorros se les entrena desde su niñez para convertirlos en los mejores cazadores de sus respectivos clanes. Sin Sangrar (Un-Blooded): son los jóvenes y menos experimentados cazadores Yautja, los cuales aún no han demostrado su valía en una cacería. Ellos son entrenados arduamente en Yautja Prime por las Hembras hasta que están lo suficientemente listos como para salir a una cacería en algún grupo de caza.

Joven Sangrado (Young Blood): Son adolescentes puestos aprueba en su primera cacería, donde deberán lograr su primera victoria para luego ser aceptados como adultos dentro del clan. Muchos de ellos logran este ascenso en las cacerías de xemomorfos que son organizadas y supervisadas por yautjas de rangos mas altos. En algunos clanes este rango no existe ya que los sin sangrar ascienden directamente a sangrados. Sangrado (Blooded): Cuando logran su primera victoria el cazador se marca a si mismo usando la sangre de su presa (normalmente de xenomorfo) en un acto simbólico que le otorga el titulo de guerrero sangrado. Este ascenso, además de permitirles el acceso a armas mas avanzadas para sus cacerías, significa su paso a la adultez y la aceptación dentro del clan como cazadores. Elite: Cuando un yautja a logrado una gran cantidad de victorias sobre las presas mas peligrosas a lo largo de mucho tiempo se le considera un cazador de elite. Capitán de Caza (Leader): es un título dado a todo aquel Yautja de rango Sangrado/Elite que tiene la obligación de liderar un grupo de caza conformado por cazadores menos experimentados como los Sin Sangrar y los Jovenes Sangrados durante los rituales de iniciación. A pesar de que un Capitán de Caza y un Líder del Clan son rangos totalmente diferentes, hay casos en los que los mismos líderes de clan son los encargados de liderar los grupos de caza, como por ejemplo Yeyinde y Top-Knot.

Anciano (Elder): son viejos cazadores que han logrado innumerables cacerías durante muchos años, habiendo cultivado y blandido su propio estilo único en la cacería. Muchos tienen los cráneos de varias Reinas Alien en sus Paredes de Trofeos. En ocasiones los Ancianos lideran los clanes al mando de una Mother Ship, pero también se les puede encontrar asesorando y guiando a los cazadores más jóvenes. Los ancianos que no cazan en absoluto se denominan Jubilados y sirven a la especie de otras formas, como trabajadores navales. Según Yeyinde, algunos incluso hasta practican la filosofía. A pesar de que una Matriarca es la contraparte femenina de Líder del Clan, hay dos casos de hembras Yautja que son nombradas como Líderes de Clan y no como Matriarcas. A parte de los títulos ya mencionados, tambíen existen xenobiólogos en Yautja Prime, los cuales tienen la obligación de estudiar y aprender todo lo que se pueda saber de los Xenomorfos. Antiguas tradiciones

Blood Ring El "Blood Ring" es un deporte de lucha combatido creado años atras cuando los invasores Amengis obligaron a los antepasados de los Yautja a luchar entre si en una batalla al estilo del Coliseo. Yautja bone and muscle tissue is considerably denser with greater tensile strength than that of a human, making them highly resilient to physical damage. They are capable of shrugging off and surviving gunshot wounds with minimal or even no medical attention and can endure radiation doses which would be fatal to humans. They are also highly resilient to most bacteria and viruses. They are incredibly strong, easily capable of outmatching a conditioned adult human male in unarmed combat or even manhandle Xenomorphs with their bare hands as well as land blows that can shatter solid concrete. They are capable of tearing a human's head and spine from the body with little effort, while some larger specimens have even been seen to tear a human body in half using only their bare hands. This strength evidently extends to their lower bodies as well, as Predators have been seen to jump up to three times their own height, and are capable of falling up to ten times their height and landing safely on their feet. They are skilled climbers, and in fact appear to prefer moving at height through trees or across rooftops in pursuit of prey, typically jumping from one vantage point to the next. Though capable of surviving exposure in Antarctic temperatures for an extended period of time, it seems as though Predators have a preference for hot equatorial climates. According to Isabella Borgia, Yautja possess "superior genetic material" compared to humans that, if used correctly, could enhance humanity as a species. The augmentation of Hunter Borgia was one such project carried out in this regard, although the genetic experimentation was not completed before Hunter was slain by the Yautja known as Scarface. Nevertheless, Yautja genes are evidently "potent" enough that, when one is impregnated with a

Xenomorph Chestburster, the resulting creature adopts more pronounced physical characteristics from its host than might otherwise be expected – such as dreadlocks and mandibles – leading to the distinctive Predalien caste. Their blood is luminescent phosphor green in color, and has the capacity to partially neutralize the acidity of Xenomorph blood. It has also been known to bestow significant life-giving properties on humans, capable of extending a person's lifespan well beyond what would normally be possible. It is thought Yautja may be cold-blooded, hence their documented affinity for hot, humid conditions and the thermal netting built into their suits. Predators' vision operates mainly in the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum; they can easily detect heat differentials in their surroundings, but are unable to easily distinguish among objects of the same relative temperature; this is debatable, however, as the City Hunter can still easily distinguish objects from one another after Harrigan removes his mask. A Predator's helmet or bio-helmet greatly increases its ability to see in a variety of spectrums, ranging from the low infrared to the high ultraviolet, and also filters ambient heat from the area, allowing them to distinguish prey with greater clarity and detail. While they are seemingly capable of breathing Earth's atmosphere, they have been known to use some form of breathing apparatus in the event of losing their bio-helmet.

Despite their numerous physical advantages, humans designated as prey by the Yautja have been able to identify and exploit potential weaknesses in order to fight back. As noted by Royce on the jungle planet, the Yautja may be bigger and stronger than humans, but it also makes them heavier and less agile, suggesting that he and the others can take them out if they lure them into a kill box. Additionally, humans who learn how to mask their heat signatures-such as Dutch who smeared himself with mud or Royce who surrounded himself and the Berserker Predator with a wall of fire-make them invisible to the Yautja's heat-based sight and allowing them to launch surprise attacks at them.

Despite their brutish and violent demeanor, Yautja intelligence rivals and possibly exceeds that of humans. In addition to their more highly advanced technology, they demonstrate the ability to learn and adapt to a prey's habits and behaviors, frequently spending time observing and studying them under the cover of their active camouflage to both identify worthy prey and formulate a hunting strategy. When being pursued by Peter Keyes' team in the slaughterhouse, although initially unable to see them due to their insulated suits, the sounds they made alerted the City Hunter to their presence, causing him to take up an observational position and cycle through his Bio-Mask's visual scanners until isolating a spectrum that allowed him to confirm visual contact. Despite their aggression, Yautja operate under a strict honor code when on the hunt, never harming those who can't properly defend themselves. While scouting a city graveyard, the City Hunter briefly targeted a child until his scanner identified the gun he was carrying as a toy at which point he withheld his attack. Later, after attacking a subway and killing Jerry Lambert, the City Hunter then targeted and nearly killed Leonna Cantrell but let her go after a quick scan of her body showed she was pregnant. The Predators are also capable of showing respect to those that are able to fight on the same level as them. After the City Hunter was killed in battle by Mike Harrigan, despite outnumbering him, the rest of his clan opted not to seek revenge and instead allowed him to leave with his life while the Clan Elder gifted him a flintlock pistol obtained on an earlier hunt, recognizing his victory as an honorable one. That being said, when pushed a Yautja's sense of pride can make it lash out at a perceived insult. When Scar scanned Charles Bishop Weyland and noted his fatal lung cancer, it was prepared to spare him but ultimately turned its wrath on him when the elder human attacked him with a makeshift flamethrower.

Main article: Yautja technology Yautja technology is distinctive in many respects, not least of which is its unusual combination of ornate, tribal appearance masking deadly, sophisticated weaponry. However, despite the species' obvious technological prowess, including access to adaptive camouflage and plasma weaponry, traditional, ancient weapons, such as blades, knives and spears, are still employed widely (and apparently considered by the Yautja as being more "honorable" than advanced technology). At least one Yautja weapon uses a metal that does not correspond to any known element on the periodic table, and many devices have been shown to be completely resistant to the effects of the acidic blood of Xenomorphs, an otherwise incredibly corrosive and destructive substance. With this said however, the Wristblades and chest armor of immature Young Blood Yautja are still made of metal that is not resistant to Xenomorph blood; it seems such advanced armor must be "earned" through initiation rituals that first test the individual's prowess with more rudimentary and challenging equipment. Many of the Yautja's tools make use of thermal imaging to track prey, while some aspects of their technology have been in use for millennia. Individuals of the species will often utilize their own bespoke variations of tried and tested Yautja weapons, constructed from different materials and with varying degrees of tribal or symbolic ornamentation.

As noted in one of Isabelle's recordings in Predator: Hunting Grounds, however, the Yautja do not have engineers or scientists for their technology, thus they do not do maintenance; if something breaks, they abandon that piece of tech. Isabelle further notes that while the technology works for them, they do not know HOW it works for them.[36] While this plausibly attributed to majorities of their techs being originally developed by the Amengi from start, the Yautja nonetheless displayed sufficient understanding on the scientific principles behind how they operate at least to mass-produce as well as modify and/or develop better variants of them.

Yautja culture centers on the ritualistic hunting of other dangerous lifeforms, and this practice appears to be the foundation of their very society. Predators will travel huge distances – even across entire galaxies – in order to face opponents they consider a worthy challenge, and may also kidnap and transport prey across similar distances to bring such victims to a hunting ground of their choice.[37] Defeat in a Hunt is apparently a cause of great shame to the Yautja, and often leads to the individual committing honorable suicide, typically through the detonation of their Wrist Gauntlet's Self-Destruct Device. Upon their death, a hunting Yautja's spacecraft will return to the species homeworld on automatic pilot so that a record of the individual's Hunt, recorded through their bio-helmet, may be returned to its kin. The Yautja have a Code of Honor during the hunt that it expects all members of the species to adhere to on pain of not being seen as a "true Yautja" and therefore subject to being destroyed. Therefore, most Yautja are moulded around that code, being ruthless but honorable, with the exception of Bad Bloods. Aggression and arrogance seems to be innate in Hunters, especially young males.

The Yautja have a long and involved history with humans on Earth, dating back to ancient times. Evidence suggests the Yautja influenced the development of early human civilizations, including the Ancient Egyptians, the Khmer Empire, the Aztecs and a largely undocumented culture inhabiting what is now modern day Bouvetøya in Antarctica. Upon their arrival in ancient times, the Predators were worshipped as gods by the primitive peoples of Earth, and they in turn taught these early humans how to construct pyramids (explaining why so many ancient civilizations share distinctly similar cultures and architecture). These pyramids and temples were then used as hunting grounds by the Yautja, typically for initiation Hunts involving the Xenomorphs, which would be bred through the use of sacrificial human hosts that the civilizations would provide. These rite of passage Hunts were conducted every 100 years on Earth. Each Young Blood taking part would be expected to return with the head of a Xenomorph killed in hand-to-hand combat. Were the young hunters successful in these trials, they would use the acid of their foes to sear a clan marking or other symbol into their bio-helmet and foreheads. On the other hand, should they fail and the hunting grounds be overrun with Xenomorphs, the Yautja were expected to activate their Self-Destruct Devices, dying honorably and eliminating all trace of the Xenomorph infestation. Not all Hunts on Earth were conducted in such a manner. Yautja also visited the planet to hunt humans as well. In fact, the species has been linked with the destruction of the ancient Mayans in Central America. Yautja individuals have also hunted humans during the Renaissance, in North America prior to its colonization by the European nations, in New Way City in 1930, on Iwo Jima during WWII, in Cambodia during the Vietnam War, in Beiruit, in Guatemala during the late 1980s, in Los Angeles in the mid-1990s and Neonopolis in 2030, as well as numerous other occasions.

Throughout history, Predators have also abducted humans from Earth for staged Hunts on at least one game preserve planet that they control in an undefined region of space. This particular means of hunting prey seems to be utilized primarily by the Super Predators.
