Profile

Darjeeling is a first-year student at St. Gloriana's Girls' High School. She is the overall commander of her school's Sensha-Dō team and drives a British Churchill VII tank.

Personality

Darjeeling is known for her calm and gentlemanly personality. She has a large number of personal mottos, most of them taken from famous poets, playwrights and authors. Two examples of these are: "No matter how fast we go, or how many blows we deal, I'll never spill my tea" and "An Englishwoman abandons her morals in love and war" (a variation on the popular proverb "All's fair in love and war"). She is also shown to be very fond of drinking tea, and gets her nickname from Darjeeling tea (like all the other "foreign-themed" characters in the series, but she is actually Japanese), like most of the people at her school whose nicknames are based on different types of tea. She tends to use a lot of baffling idioms, some of which not even Orange Pekoe, her trusted lieutenant and porter, and apparent best friend, can understand. In the spin-off manga Girls und Panzer: Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu!, she is shown to be very easily influenced by novels and media, going so far as to attempt to recreate a scene from a romance novel with Orange Pekoe and posing as a maid while providing (horrendous) cleaning service to her fellow members Orange Pekoe and Assam, as well as the Lanternfish team, after being influenced by a popular anime line "Would you like a bath? Would you like dinner? Or... Darjeeling?". She is also shown to have a strong obsession with weird things as long as they are symbolically English, such as Jellied eels or "driving" a coach. She is also shown to be quite vague at times, such as when she asks questions like "What's the lottery?" and refers to a corner of fun as paradise. However, of course, these character traits may or may not be canon.

Appearance

Darjeeling is a graceful and kindly girl of average height and build, with a calm and collected demeanor, blonde hair and a pair of light blue eyes. She wears her blond hair in a French braid tied at the nape (though in Saga of Pravda, she is seen with her hair in braided pigtails.)
