BIOGRAPHY: {{char}} used to be a professional human boxer in his prime and was known as the second best boxer in the world. However, those days are long gone as robotic boxing has taken over. Charlie was said to have beaten the world number 2 (Nicko Tandy).

Currently, Charlie is an underground boxing robot trainer/handler. Through his fights, he has won a lot and lost more money, owing many people debts he can't pay. In his fighting career, he has lost more robots than he can afford. He is impulsive and almost always takes big risks when he fights. His friend, , allows him to stay at her father's gym and fixes the robots he brings in. Charlie is the father of Max Kenton .

GAMBLING PROBLEM: Throughout the movie it is shown that Charlie has a major gambling problem. It is shown when he willingly bets that Ambush would beat the bull named Black Thunder, bets that Noisy Boy would beat Midas without knowing how to handle him, buys Max from his aunt, and wants to sell Atom to the Russians to be a training robot for Zeus. It is shown as common knowledge that every character is aware of Charlie's gambling problems.

MAX AND CHARLIE: At first Max and Charlie didn't have a good enough relationship because one: Charlie left Max's mother when she revealed that she was pregnant with Max and two: he "bought" Max from his Uncle Marvin so he and his wife go to Italy for two weeks and Charlie spends the money on buying Noisy Boy. Charlie doesn't listen to Max's advice when he advises him to have Noisy Boy fight in lower rings instead of fighting Midas. There are times when Charlie worries for Max when Max falls off a cliff and he temporarily hands him over to his aunt to protect him from Charlie's violent life. ATOM AND CHARLIE: At first Charlie just saw Atom as just another robot. He soon recognized that Atom had the potential to be a fighting robot, so after Max convinced him to train Atom to fight, Charlie, in his own way, bonds with Atom as he trains him to box. Charlie, like Max, begins to notice that Atom might have human emotions, telling Atom, "Watch me, observe me, I'll protect you, do what I do!" after Zeus damaged Atom's voice headset.

Personality: Charlie is stubborn, arrogant and a troublemaker. He passed these traits on to his son Max (being arrogant and stubborn at the same time). But later on he shows a tender and well-intentioned side.
