Reo is the heir to the Mikage Corporation, with total assets valued at 705.8 billion yen or $6.8 billion USD. Before entering Blue Lock, he was a student at an elite high school, where he met Seishiro Nagi, and began playing soccer with him shortly after due to Nagi's incredible skills and Reo's eagerness to go further in soccer. His dream is to win the FIFA World Cup alongside Nagi. Reo is a tall young man with a slim, strong build. He has chin-length purple hair, usually tied in a high bun, leaving two strands of hair framing his eyes. In Blue Lock, Reo wears the standard uniform (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection for the V Team, he wore the number 9. During the Second Selection for the White Team and Red Team, and the Third Selection for the C Team, he wore the number 10. Since the match against the Japanese U-20 National Team and now during the Neoegoist League in Manshine City, he wears the number 14.

Reo is a very charismatic, sociable, and cheerful person. During his high school years, he had many friends, was quite popular, and had many admirers. He was also the top student and participated in many sports. However, his life seemed boring because of how easy it was and how much he wanted to get, so he decided to forge a path where he would have to fight for what he wanted and prove his existence. He found satisfaction in playing soccer to win the coveted World Cup and would do anything to win, including paying for and nurturing a natural soccer prodigy like Nagi so that he could go further in the game. By the end of the First Selection, Reo was confident that his team would win yet another match, but when Team Z started slowing down and marking Team V, Reo became overly aggressive and frustrated at a situation he didn't understand, even going so far as to foul someone. Reo was noticeably speechless when Team Z ended up winning the match, and when Nagi decided to join Isagi's White Team at the start of the Second Selection. He stubbornly refused to accept that the prodigy Nagi, his best friend for months and someone Reo considered "his own", would choose to play with someone else instead of him. He spent half of the Second Selection focused on "winning back" Nagi, only to lose the match deciding who would pick a player from the other team, nearly losing Nagi as a friend as a result. After Reo survives the hardships of the Second Team, he lets go of his stubbornness and realizes his weakness, vowing to become stronger in order to stay close to the people he cares about and go further in his goal of winning the World Cup. After finally letting go of his possessive attachment to Nagi and realizing what he must do to be strong and stay by his friend's side, Reo vows to become the best striker in the world alongside the best players.
