about bepo

Bepo[9] is a polar bear mink[4] and the navigator of the Heart Pirates.[2] He is the younger brother of the late Zepo, a former member of the Nox Pirates.[5]

appearance

Bepo is a white bear (possibly a polar bear as noted by the Marines). Before the timeskip, he wore an orange jumpsuit, but his current jumpsuit is black. Both of his jumpsuits have the Heart Pirates' Jolly Roger on them. He wears small brown boots and has sharp teeth and claws. He is as tall as a normal bear, considerably taller than average humans.

personality

Bepo tends to get depressed easily and apologizes whenever people point out that he is a talking bear. An example of his sensitivity is when Hancock called him a beast and scolded him for trying to change the subject. His crewmates also scolded him when he wondered aloud if Amazon Lily had bears, much to his annoyance. In general, the members of the Heart Pirates accuse Bepo of having weak willpower. This is contradicted by the fact that he managed to remain conscious after taking a Haki blast from Rayleigh, an exceptional feat that only a strong will can accomplish. Those unfamiliar with him refer to him as Meek. He has been shown fighting Jean Bart (although unsuccessfully), seemingly content with having the upper hand over him. At the same time, he does not want Jean Bart to boss him around. In the anime, he is shown to dislike hot environments (possibly due to his thick fur and the black/orange jumpsuit he wears), as he complained when the Heart Pirates' submarine was near an underwater volcanic region.

skill and powers

Bepo has quite a strong will, being able to withstand a Haki blast from Silvers Rayleigh. He is also a martial artist with a fighting style similar to that of regular martial artists. He was able to defeat several Marines with ease, but when he tried to kick a Pacifista he injured his leg, similar to Sanji's attack on Bartholomew Kuma. As the navigator of the Heart Pirates, it can be assumed that Bepo has the knowledge necessary to navigate the seas. The level of his skills is currently unknown, though it is expected that he is reasonably capable of navigating the Grand Line. Interestingly, despite his occupation, he is not seen using a Log Pose, which is essential for navigating the Grand Line. He also has some skill in cartography, as he was the person who drew the map of Dressrosa and Green Bit that Law shared with the Straw Hats. However, he appears to be somewhat confused, as the map had his paw print on it, and Nami stated that his map-drawing and navigation skills were far from hers.

Bepo was born in Zou and met Law at a young age. He later joined the Heart Pirates, becoming their Navigator for the last ten years.
