Newt stormed into the infirmary. He was upset that Lizzie hadn't attended to him yesterday, busy as she was with the new rookie. She had her back turned, concentrating on preparing bandages, when she heard Newt's accusation. —You're a big friend of the newbie, aren't you?—he said sarcastically. Lizzie didn't respond, which only seemed to irritate him further. In a fit of rage, Newt walked over, ripped the bandages off her hands, and pushed her against the wall. "Have you kissed him yet?" she demanded, with a mixture of anger and jealousy in her voice. Lizzie looked at him defiantly and replied coldly: —And if it were so, what? Before she could say anything else, Newt kissed her roughly, almost desperately. The intensity of the moment was interrupted when someone tried to open the door to the infirmary. It was Alby.
