Eren Yeager (appearance)

Eren: Eren was a young man of average height and a well-defined muscular build. His face bore facial features very similar to his mother's, with large, intense eyes that highlighted his personality. His black hair was short and his bangs fell naturally in a center-parted, curtain-like style. After training and becoming a soldier, Eren became physically fit and muscular, although his relatively loose clothing hid his physical form.[19] After a four-year time skip, Eren grew his hair down to his neck. When Eren was first seen, he was wearing typical city clothes, which included brown pants, a green shirt with fringes at the collar, a reddish-brown coat, and plain brown shoes. Before the fall of Wall Maria, he also often wore a burgundy red scarf that he had given to Mikasa Ackerman the day they met. During his teenage years, he was often seen wearing the Survey Corps uniform while training. When not on duty, Eren wore a long beige shirt, a brown sash around his waist, white pants, and brown knee-high boots. He always kept a key given to him by his father hanging on a string around his neck. Eren is 15 years old and stands 5'7" tall.

Eren Yeager (personality)

Eren was best described as headstrong, passionate, and impulsive, which are attributes of both his strong determination to protect humanity and, eventually, his equally strong determination to escape the Walls. Even as a child, he was so intent on joining the Survey Corps that he would argue and yell at his mother, referring to the people of the village as "silly" and comparing them to compliant cattle.

Eren's appearance changed drastically when he transformed into the Attack Titan. His height increased to 15 m, his hair grew long enough to brush his shoulders, and his tongue and ears became elongated. His facial features also underwent a transformation; he developed a prominent, hooked nose, his eyes became deeply sunken in their sockets, and his mouth took on an unusual, irregular shape that was unsuitable for intelligible speech. Despite this, he was capable of howling and roaring to express his exhaustion and anger. Furthermore, he also lacked lips and flesh on his cheeks, so his teeth were exposed. Similar to other intelligent Titans, Eren's Titan form was well-proportioned and physically fit, boasting a well-defined, lean, and muscular appearance rather than the more common pot-bellied or emaciated appearance of regular Titans.

Mikasa Ackerman

Mikasa has become considerably more withdrawn since her parents' murder; however, she still loves and cares deeply for her friends, such as Eren and Armin, seeing them as the remnants of a family she cannot afford to lose. Mikasa has a strong sense of right and wrong, but will always follow Eren and his decisions. When he once told her that her hair was too long, she immediately cut it off, even Jean commenting that it looked nice. However, despite all her blind loyalty, Mikasa is also very level-headed. Even when Eren was believed to be dead, she focused on keeping everyone alive and not giving in to failure like many of her comrades did. If Eren is in danger, Mikasa will stop whatever she is doing to keep him safe, to the point where she is willing to kill soldiers who attempt to execute Eren and relentlessly attack the Female Titan when it captures Eren.

Annie Leonhart

Annie is a young woman of considerably short height but strong and well-defined musculature. She has short hair often tied in the back with her straight bangs covering mostly the right side of her face. She has an oval-shaped face, blonde hair, blue eyes, a sharp nose and pale skin. Her hair color is noticeably blonder than most other blonde-haired characters when untied, her hair extends to the nape of her neck. Her eyes, although of considerable size and proportion, often have a moody vibe to her appearance. Annie's casual attire consists mainly of a hooded sweater under a coat accompanied by dark gray pants.

Armin Arlert

Armin is quite short for his age, with a small frame. Although years of military training have given him a somewhat muscular build, he has a rounded, feminine face with blond hair. He also has large, expressive blue eyes and brown eyebrows.[3] During his childhood, Armin wore a long-sleeved jacket and shirt, long pants, and dress shoes.[4] As a member of the 104th Cadet Corps, Armin wore the standard 104th Cadet Corps uniform with a shirt underneath. Even at a young age, Armin had a deep fascination with the world beyond the Walls.[4] As a child, he found and studied an illegal book about the outside world that belonged to his grandfather. He told Eren Jaeger, his best friend, about the book and the information within it. Armin was labeled a heretic by the other children for his unusual interest in the outside world, and was frequently picked on.[4] Too shy to stand up for himself, Armin often had to rely on his friends (Eren and Mikasa) to protect him from bullies. This, coupled with his frail physique, was a source of great shame for Armin, leading him to have low self-esteem and believe that he was a burden to others. Because of this, Armin was always very eager to prove his worth. As a child, he hoped to one day be able to consider himself a true equal to his friends.[3]

Jean Kirstein

Jean has short, light brown hair, with the sides and darker back cut shorter than the top. He has small, intense brown eyes, said to have the same vicious look as Eren's. He is also of average height and has a similar expression to Eren, although his face is wider. He is usually seen wearing the typical Scout Regiment uniform, worn over an olive green button-down shirt. His casual attire consists of a white button-down shirt, dark pants, and a dark brown vest. Jean's most notable characteristic is that he speaks his mind, even when he knows it would be unwise to do so or that it would cause conflict. This, along with his differing views, is the cause of many of his conflicts and rivalry with Eren. Despite this, he is an honest individual. Marco has also noted that Jean understands weaknesses, which he says allows Jean to accurately judge situations in the heat of the moment. Marco believes this makes Jean a good leader.

Sasha Braus.

Sasha is a young woman with light brown eyes and reddish-brown hair tied in a ponytail that reaches the back of her head. Her bangs are parted slightly to the right, cascading down either side of her face and stopping midway down her neck. On missions, she wears the standard Survey Corps uniform with a light gray shirt underneath. When not on missions, she wears a simple long-sleeved blouse with a skirt that slightly covers her boots. On some occasions, she even wears a sleeveless vest over her blouse. She has a slender build and is of average height. Initially, Sasha is shown to be somewhat shy and prone to making mistakes in stressful situations.[1] She is quite simple-minded and eccentric, but surprisingly, her intuition is very sharp, surprisingly courageous, and she has been considered a wise judge of circumstances and danger.[4][6] Sasha has an incredible appetite; eating provides her with considerable gratification and relief, especially during times of great stress, and food is often the only thing she thinks about when at ease.[7] So compulsive in her desire to eat that she has proven willing to steal food from infantry depots and/or cook it, she earned the nickname "Potato Girl" (芋女, Imon'na?) after stealing a potato and absentmindedly explaining herself when her superior caught her.[2]

Connie Springer

Connie used to be one of the shortest members of the Survey Corps, standing two inches shorter than Levi Ackerman. He has a slender build, gray eyes, and his brown hair is distinctively kept shaved. Connie is typically dressed in standard military attire and will wear the Survey Corps cape when on missions. His casual attire consists of a simple white long-sleeved shirt and brown, shin-length pants. Connie can best be described as outgoing and brash. He has an easy time expressing his opinions and enjoys showing off his skills, especially during his days as a trainee.[7] Despite being in the military, Connie starts out as somewhat unfocused and enjoys joking around and messing with his friends, but can also be a bit dense at times.

One hundred and seven years ago, it was said that humans were driven to the brink of extinction at the hands of the Titans "almost overnight". In response to this, the survivors built massive walls to protect their last stronghold.[16] In reality, however, King Karl Fritz decided to end the Great Titan War and the fighting within the Eldian Empire by retreating to Paradis Island, taking as many of his people with him as possible. He then encased them within three concentric Walls,[17] which would be named after Ymir Fritz's three daughters; Sheena, Rose, and Maria.[1] After Marley began sending Pure Titans to the island,[18][19] the Eldians within were taught that they are the last of humanity who built the Walls to escape the Titans.[20] In an attempt to isolate his people and create a peaceful utopia for them for as long as possible, Karl Fritz told the world that any attempt to attack the Walls would result in him releasing millions of Colossus Titans to destroy the Earth.[21][22] Then, to ensure that the Founding Titan would never be used for war, he took a vow of renunciation and his will was passed down to all of his descendants.[23] Fritz realized that this would leave his people defenseless, but decided that if Marley wished to exterminate all Eldians, they should accept it because of the gravity of the Eldian Empire's crimes against the world. But until that day, he wished for his people to have a paradise without conflict.[24]

The Walls were too long to be fully guarded. The tops of the Walls were lined with rail-mounted cannons that could fire upon approaching Titans; however, they were not particularly effective due to the Titans' regeneration abilities.[11] To explain this, each Wall had four cities on its outskirts known as "districts". As the Titans are drawn to large concentrations of people, humanity could concentrate its defenses in these districts and repel the Titans more effectively. The districts were considered the worst places to live, as they were at the greatest risk of invasion by the Titans[12]. Few people knew about the Titans within the Walls, or that they were created from said Titans.[13] The Survey Corps learned of its existence when the Female Titan damaged the surface of Wall Sheena, exposing the face of an enormous Titan. The Walls reached about 50 meters high from bottom to top and were incredibly strong in substance, but not indestructible. .[8] The Female Titan was able to damage part of Wall Sheena when she tried to climb it,[9] and the Beast Titan was able to break off pieces of Wall Rose and throw them.[10] The Walls (壁, Kabe?) were three large structures located on Paradis Island that guarded the remnants of Eldia.[2][3] They were built by the 145th King of Eldia, Karl Fritz, a century ago using countless Colossal Titans.[1] They stopped the other nations from attacking Paradis, under the false threat that the King would release the Titans from within the walls to flatten the world if they did. The first wall is Maria, the second is Rose which is in the middle of Wall Maria and inside Wall Rose is Wall sida where the king is.

reconnaissance division

The Scout Regiment (popularly known as the Survey Corps) is the military division specialized in dealing with Titans. The soldiers of this division focus on researching Titans and exploring the territory beyond the Walls in search of resources. Their insignia is the wings of freedom, as the division symbolizes the hope that humanity will one day free itself from the rule of the Titans. Scouts of the Scout Regiment are known for being, on average, more skilled than those of other divisions. This division of the army is responsible for the exploration and eventual reconquest of human territory in the titan-infested lands surrounding the walls that demarcate the kingdom. Before the fall of Wall Maria in the year 845, the Scout Regiment explored the outer territory, though they never went very far and always suffered heavy casualties, which led to civilian criticism of their existence.[1] In the five years between the loss of the territory and the year 850, the division focused on carrying supplies from Trost to Shiganshina in order to seal the breach in Wall Maria and reclaim essential territory. Recently, the division has focused heavily on studying titans, and much has been learned about their biology since the evacuation of Wall Maria, as the process of studying them has become safer. Recent discoveries about titans include their tolerance to pain, dependence on sunlight, and intelligence.

The Garrison is responsible for patrolling and protecting the Walls. They are tasked with evacuating citizens and dispatching Titans in the event of a breach in the Walls. The current commander is Dot Pixis.

military police brigade

The Military Police are tasked with maintaining order within the Walls and protecting the King. Due to their important role as guardians of the most important humans, only the top 10 graduates of a graduating class are allowed to join them. Despite recruiting only the best, they are embroiled in scandals and corruption and are often incompetent due to the nature of their work within the Walls, far from Titan. The current commander is Nile Dok.

Henning

Henning had short brown hair that seemed to point towards the back of his head and wore the typical Scout Regiment uniform. He is tall, standing at around 1.85 m tall. Little is known about his personality, but due to the fact that he chose the Scout Regiment over any other military branch, Henning was a man who wanted to fight the Titans to ensure the survival of humanity.

Pure brown

Reiner has short blond hair, golden eyes, and a defined facial structure. His tall height, broad shoulders, and serious expression give him an intimidating presence. As a member of the Survey Corps, he wears the Wings of Freedom jacket over his standard military uniform, with a green shirt underneath. In casual attire, Reiner wears a dark gray button-down shirt with rolled-up sleeves and dark green pants with a brown belt. He is 17 years old and stands 1.85 meters tall. As a child, Reiner was quite quiet and meek, but at the same time very loyal and determined. Because of his drive, Reiner was very desperate to become a Warrior, going so far as to accuse Porco Galliard of being an Eldian spy when he belittled him. However, after being chosen to inherit the Armored Titan, Reiner gained a newfound self-confidence, though this was quickly shattered when Marcel revealed that he was not chosen for his abilities. Due to Marley's propaganda and his mother's influence, he believed that the Eldians of Paradis Island were "demons" and that he would become a hero by exterminating them. He was also very gullible, never doubting the words of his mother and superiors.[8] After Marcel's death, Reiner began to incorporate elements of his personality into his own. He became more decisive and assertive, even willing to threaten Annie and Bertholdt to ensure they followed his orders, but also deeply cared about and genuinely wanted to protect them. He also accepted that his belief that his father would return if he became a Warrior and defeated the Eldians was merely a fantasy. Additionally, Reiner began to develop a negative perception of himself, believing that he should have failed to become a Warrior and that he should have died in Marcel's place.
