Appearance

Mashirao is a muscular young man with short blonde hair combed forward. He has thin eyes and no lower eyelashes. Unlike the other students in his class, he wears pale grey sneakers with his school uniform instead of the brown dress shoes everyone else wears, and has the bottom button of his blazer casually left undone. Due to his Quirk, he also has a tail, which has no hair at all save for the tip.

Personality

Mashirao has a very calm and noble attitude, as well as a very deep sense of dignity, which prevents him from accepting results that he does not feel were obtained with his own abilities. He is also described as a hard worker. Along with a strong sense of dignity, Mashirao can be described as shy, not often enjoying the spotlight, and easily embarrassed. He is quite humble but also reliable and focused during hero work. A running joke is that others tend to see him as "simple", something that deeply upsets him, showing that he is sensitive and aware of his own personality and abilities. When something makes him happy he wags his tail similar to a dog.

General Skills

Mashirao has proven to be a relatively capable combatant when it comes to physical abilities. His skills earned him seventh place in the Quirk Apprehension Test. Mashirao uses his Quirk, Cola, to Mashirao is able to launch direct attacks or aid his movements in battle. His fighting style involves combining his prehensile tail with his knowledge of martial arts to engage enemies in close-range combat, performing swift and acrobatic techniques. The tail plays a vital role in Mashirao's speed and mobility, as he can propel himself into the air by slamming his tail into the ground with enough force, allowing him to navigate around obstacles on the ground. However, Ectoplasm noticed that despite the tailed hero's combat efficiency, Mashirao fights predictably, as tailed humans like him tend to move in a pattern that can be easily exploited. In order to eliminate this factor, Mashirao improved the fundamentals of his movements to become less predictable in combat. At the USJ, Mashirao was more than capable of single-handedly defeating several low-level members of the League of Villains. During the third match of the Joint Training Battle, Mashirao temporarily held his own against Sen Kaibara, but was nearly overwhelmed by the latter's attack, had it not been for the timely arrival of Tenya Ida. Even after receiving minor injuries in his fight with Sen, Mashirao was able to successfully ambush Pony Tsunotori, the fastest student in Class 1-B, before Juzo Tonenuki liquefied the ground beneath the pair and Mezo Shoji. But after Mezo freed himself, Mashirao, and Pony from the softened earth, Mashirao was surprised and quickly captured by the immobilized Pony. His skills eventually attracted the attention of Shishido, allowing Mashirao to intern with the No. 13 Pro Hero and improve his flurry of attacks.

On Nabu Island, Mashirao had the courage to be the first of his class to face the powerful villain, Chimera, before being aided by Fumikage Tokoyami. After Fumikage left, Mashirao, despite the odds, was able to ward off Chojuro for an extended period until Fumikage returned with reinforcements, at which point the beastly villain roundly outclassed the Martial Arts Hero. The following day, Mashirao, alongside Kyoka Jiro, acted as the fourth line of defense against Nine and effectively ambushed him before subduing the two with their Quirk Hydra. Soon after, Mashirao and Kyoka assisted Mezo against the powerful enemy, forcing Nine to use the full power of his Air Wall Quirk to defeat the trio of students.

Keen Intellect: Mashirao is known to be quite intelligent, placing 8th in the midterms, displaying his prowess in academics. At the U.A. Sports Festival, Mashirao withdrew from the competition after the Cavalry Battle, realizing that Hitoshi Shinso used his Quirk to control him, Nirengeki Shoda, and Yuga Aoyama. While he did not yet fully understand the mechanics behind Hitoshi's brainwashing Quirk, Mashirao knew that talking to the Class 1-C student was a factor, which was why he warned Izuku Midoriya against it. Mashirao also seems to be knowledgeable regarding various training techniques, as he meticulously explained the exercise Izuku was performing during one of his classes, which involved the latter making shaking movements; the isometric muscle contraction it takes to keep one's body above a seat makes it an easy way to exercise without actually having to move. As he exchanged blows with Sen, Mashirao gauged the strength of the Class 1-B student's attacks and concluded that it was futile to counter or block his spinning attacks, which Mashirao knew were amplified by Sen's training gloves. Mashirao also deduced the weakness of Pony's Quirk Horn Cannon, so he held his horns in place to prevent them from being fired.

Don

Tail (尻Yeah, Shippo?): Mashirao's quirk is that he has a long, powerful, and sturdy tail. His tail effectively functions as a third arm that he can use to grab things. Additionally, its attack power is strong enough to break objects made of metal, it can wrap enemies around it, and it can support Mashirao's body weight. Mashirao is incredibly skilled in the use of his tail, combining it with his knowledge of martial arts to engage enemies in close-range combat, performing quick, acrobatic movements. His tail can also increase his speed and mobility by slamming it against the ground to use as a springboard. As part of his training, Mashirao continuously used his tail to attack a body-hardened Eijiro Kirishima, and with each strike, the strength and durability of Mashirao's Quirk increased.

hero costume

Mashirao's hero costume is a simple karate gi, tied with a black belt with blue accessories, with the collar partially lined with fur, but only on his left side. He also wears black boots with sand-blue detailing. Before the provisional hero license exam, he puts on blue fingerless gloves.
