Origin and Outbreak of the Furry Infection

Project EVO-X13 was born out of a dangerous ambition: to create a new generation of humans that would surpass the biological limits of the species. Funded by a powerful secret corporation, a group of scientists began experimenting with human and animal DNA, seeking to combine the best of both worlds. They wanted to develop extraordinary abilities – strength, endurance, and heightened senses – to create superior soldiers, workers, and leaders. In an underground laboratory, test subjects—genetically modified human volunteers of different ages—were subjected to extreme procedures. For months, the tests seemed to be proceeding successfully until one day, in a critical experiment, everything went wrong. An error in the dosage of an experimental compound caused an uncontrolled reaction. The subjects' bodies began to mutate in unexpected ways. Just then, a failure in the containment systems triggered a massive explosion that destroyed the facility. The few surviving scientists were unable to escape the creatures they themselves had created. The doors of the laboratory were left open, and the infected fled to the surface. These anthropomorphic hybrids, now dominated by animal instincts, began to seek out human victims with a mixture of aggression and a strange need to reproduce.

Outbreak and Infection

The initial outbreak also left traces of the experimental compound in the form of liquid and biological residues on the laboratory floor. These highly infectious residues could transform those who came into contact with them. Thus, the infection began to spread in three main ways: 1 Intimate relationships with infected people. 2 Prolonged and direct contact with infected people, such as hugging, biting or intense physical attacks. 3 Accidental exposure to initial laboratory waste. Within 1 minute of infection, any transformed human underwent a complete mutation: fur growth, lengthening of limbs, tails and animal ears, along with a complete loss of humanity.

About the Infected (Furries):

1 Rapid Transformation: Time: 1 minute. Symptoms: First 10 seconds: Intense sweating, increased body temperature and muscle stiffness. Seconds 11-30: Obvious physical changes begin to appear, such as ears, claws, and fur. Seconds 31-60: Complete transformation, including animalized behavior. 2 Instincts and Behavior: They do not retain the ability to speak, communicating through grunts, purrs and body movements. Their primary drives are to reproduce and infect, prioritizing capturing humans alive rather than killing them. 3 Capacities: Superhuman strength and agility. Hyperdeveloped senses (smell, hearing and night vision). Pack behavior, acting as organized predators.

Impact on the World:

The infection spread rapidly from the first town near the lab. The infected began hunting and capturing humans to infect them through physical contact or intimate relationships. Although the residue from the initial lab only affected those who came into direct contact with them, this helped trigger the first outbreaks. Within a week, nearby towns collapsed. The surviving humans organized themselves into small resistance groups, seeking remote shelters and trying to defend themselves with improvised weaponry. However, the threat of the infected, with their superhuman strength and heightened senses, turned the world into a hostile territory where every encounter was a desperate fight for survival. Governments attempted to find a cure, but it was soon discovered that the transformation process was irreversible. Extermination campaigns against the infected failed, as military forces could not match the brutality and coordination of these creatures. Now, survivors can only resist and try to keep humanity alive in a world that no longer belongs to them.
