Suzaku Himejima.

He is a member of the Himejima clan and current heir to the Sacred Beast, the Vermilion Bird.

appearance.

Suzaku is an exceptionally beautiful young woman of Japanese descent with long black hair and red eyes. She has a slim and voluptuous figure and was noted to bear a strong resemblance to her aunt, Shuri. Her body measurements are [B-102 W-60 H-89]. Her height is 168 cm (5 feet 6 inches) and her weight is 54 kg (119.05 lbs).

personality.

Suzaku is elegant, gentle, and soft-spoken. She is also extremely kind-hearted and compassionate as she laments the Five Great Families' long-standing system of rules and traditions that has for years brought great tragedy and suffering to its own members, such as the estranged Hanezu and Kazuhisa. Having lost her aunt Shuri, who was executed for her love with Barakiel, and her cousin Akeno, who was scorned and exiled for her Fallen Angel heritage, Shuri's death and Akeno's banishment caused Suzaku to resolve to reform the Five Great Families' system in order to prevent future tragedies. Following Shuri's death, Suzaku became strongly protective of her family members, even towards distant relatives she had never met before, such as her cousin Tobio. In Slash Dog Volume 3, Suzaku swore to Tobio that she would protect him from the Himejima Clan's discrimination and persecution towards him for his ownership of a Longinus and convince Suou and the other members to accept him as their family.

History.

Suzaku comes from the Himejima Clan, one of the Five Major Clans, which rules over one of the Sacred Beasts, the Vermilion Bird and has served the Shinto Gods for generations. Since childhood, she was renowned as the most talented female in her family in the spiritual arts and Shinto magic. Suzaku has always visited her aunt and cousin and still considers them her family despite being ostracized by the rest of her clan due to Shuri loving Baraqiel, a fallen angel, and Akeno being a half-blood fallen angel. During the time when Suzaku was going through the ceremony to inherit the Vermilion Bird with the intent of changing her clan, her aunt was killed and Akeno fled from her pursuers.

volume 1.

Suzaku is first seen after the Utsusemi incident, talking about the Four Demons and Tobio Ikuse and Akeno with her great-uncle. She is then seen with Seiryu Kushihashi and talks about her cousins, revealing her intention to treat them as part of the clan and decides to gather the heirs of the Sacred Beasts.

volume 2.

Suzaku appears, interrupting the fight between Seiryuu and Tobio. He heads to Barakiel and greets Tobio, introducing himself as his second cousin, and calls for a meeting. After they settle into a large building, he apologizes to them for the incident with the Utsusemi Agency and informs them that he is searching for the rest of the Four Demons' wielders, former students of Ryoukou High School who are being hunted by the Utsusemi Agency and the Wizards of Oz. After a brief conversation with Barakiel, he proposes an alliance, to which they agree. As they finish up the meeting, Suzaku speaks with Barakiel and Tobio again. Suzaku is later shown interrupting the confrontation between Barakiel and Satanael, and briefly converses with the latter. After both Barakiel and Satanael leave the scene, Suzaku defeats the members of Team Abyss in the area along with Tobio, Natsume, Shigune, and Sae. Later, as Suzaku and Seiryu converse about future events, they are interrupted by the sudden arrival of Ouryuu Nakiri, who states his desire to interrogate everyone related to the Utsusemi Agency incident. Suzaku questions him about his plans, but he answers ambiguously.

volume 3.

Suzaku is shown at his Aunt Shuri's grave as he reminisces about the past, vowing to make sure the Himejima Clan accepts his cousin Akeno back into the family, after doing the same with Tobio.

Skills and Power.

Spiritual Flame Manipulation: As a member of the Himejima clan who has been blessed by the Shinto God of Fire, Suzaku has spiritual power over the Fire Phase, one of the Five Elements, allowing her to create and control spiritual flames, which are further enhanced due to Suzaku being the host of the Vermilion Bird. She has shown to be capable of creating sparks of flame, which covered an entire plaza, a pillar of flames with a single wave of her hands, and a small Firebird with enough power to burn a large hole in a ten-foot-tall monster. Master Magician: Suzaku has shown immense talent in the use of Shinto magic, being declared as the most talented magic master of the Himejima clan of her generation, Suzaku could break strong enchantments as a child and became the heir to the Vermilion Bird at the age of fifteen. She could perform a ceremonial fire dance to unlock the latent powers and Ame-no-Ohabari within Tobio. Purification: Due to her spiritual training as the Heiress of the Himejima clan, Suzaku has very powerful purification abilities to purify evil spirits. Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Suzaku is also a master martial artist, able to evade the erratic attacks of a member of Team Abyss, who previously trained in Grigori, causing her to fall to the ground and knock her unconscious using a palm strike to the chin. Master Dancer: Suzaku has exceptional skill and talent in Kagura, the Shinto ritual ceremonial dance. Having used it as part of a Shinto ceremony to unlock the spiritual powers of Tobio and Ame no Ohabari.

Equipment.

Vermilion Bird: The Sacred Beast of the Himejima Clan that has been passed down for several generations to the strongest mystic of the clan, who is personally chosen by the Sacred Beast itself, along with its name. Due to its connection to the Fire Release, Suzaku is able to access its immense power over flames.
