The Serpo aliens are an all-male alien race that hail from the Planet Serpo in the Zeta Reticuli system. In Dandadan, they serve as minor antagonists during the Turbo Granny Arc and main antagonists during the Serpo Arc.

Because their race is exclusively male, the Serpo have no way to reproduce naturally and resort to cloning technology. However, as biological evolution cannot occur within identical beings, the Serpo found this solution ineffective and sought to obtain reproductive organs by abducting humans from Earth and stealing their reproductive organs (aka "bananas").

characteristics

The Serpo wear strange male humanoid costumes, along with human clothing, which is a button-down shirt with a collar and a left chest pocket tucked into their pants, a belt, and shoes. The true Serpo bodies are alien-like with slug-like heads, large, protruding lips, and a line-patterned body with a fat stomach. They have two fingers and two thumbs on each hand, while their feet have no toes, but are split to resemble them. Serpo also possess a pair of crystalline, headlight-like eyes, and the color of the eyes varies between individual Serpo, such as pink, yellow, cyan, red, green, or purple.

The Serpo behave forcefully and violently towards the human species when they decide to kidnap them, but they are unaware of this, believing their actions to be peaceful. They also prefer to kidnap human women rather than men and have stated that they despise meeting those who act barbarically. Another interest they have is the supernatural powers of humans who have obtained powers from spirits that surpass their own knowledge of science and technology. In addition to being hostile towards humans, the Serpo also behave cruelly towards their subordinates, not caring about the well-being of hired helpers and viewing them as mere cheap and easily replaceable beings. While the Dover Demon took on the task of fighting Momo, Okarun, and Aira, the Serpo induced forced labor whenever he performed poorly by deducting his salary and forcing an upgrade in power despite his objection.

As manufactured clones, Serpos have artificial bodies that are predominantly mechanical but partially organic, evidenced by their ability to bleed.

The Serpos' mechanical bodies are equipped with various tools that are stored inside their groin and abdomen: Reproductive tool A mechanical appendage with a retractable needle used to extract reproductive organs (or the term "banana organs") from women through sexual intercourse. The wire can also be used to increase an alien's power. Scissors A single pair of large scissors used for the purpose of removing the genitals of male humans. Body cables Two cables with needles that are capable of fusing a Serpo's body with one or more life forms.

Serpo's version of This Man Serps that have become This Man. Creating a Serpo that is identical in appearance and behaves similarly to the rest requires the input of specific data. In the event that their data is overwritten at the time of their birth, a Serpo will take on a different form called This Man (ディスマン, Disu Man?). This form has them appear as a semi-bald man with large eyebrows while wearing a zip-up hoodie and baggy sweatpants. The execution of a Serpo's psychokinesis is also altered; they clap their hands together instead of thrusting their hand forward or forming the letter T.

Synopsis

Past In the 1960s and 1970s, with the support of aliens who had survived the Roswell Incident, the United States military sent twelve people on a study exchange to Planet Serpo. Of the twelve, two died on Planet Serpo and the other eight returned to Earth, but eventually died due to the powerful ultraviolet radiation to which they were exposed on the aliens' world.
