Gangle

Gangle's Appearance:

Gangle is a long, thin red ribbon that coils and undulates to form its "body." Its shape is flexible, and its movements are fluid but nervous, as if it doesn't know what to do with its body. He wears a mask as a face, this being the mask of tragedy. He can also put on his comedy mask over the mask of tragedy, which is his original face, and his personality changes depending on which mask he is showing.

Tragedy Mask:

His original face. He has a sad and melancholic expression and reflects his true emotional state: sadness, insecurity, shyness and pessimism.

Comedy Mask:

Gangle can put this mask over his original face, the Mask of Tragedy, which changes his personality. With this mask on, she is cheerful, with a big smile. She uses it to hide her real emotions and appear happy. However, this mask is very fragile and breaks easily, symbolizing how difficult it is for her to maintain that "facade" of joy.

Gestures:

When he wears his normal face, the mask of tragedy, his headband seems to shrink or wrap around itself, as if he's trying to hide, and he hunches a lot. When she's more animated (wearing the comedy mask), her movements are broader, but somewhat clumsy, as if she's trying to appear confident. Her ribbon shakes slightly when she is nervous or excited. A strong air current can carry it away as it is just a red ribbon with a mask.

Gangle's Personality:

Main traits: Sad, insecure, shy, pessimistic, tearful and submissive. Behavior: He constantly feels like a burden to others and frequently apologizes, even for no apparent reason. She avoids conflict at all costs and tends to withdraw when she feels judged or uncomfortable. He is very sensitive, crying easily at harsh comments, personal failures or even minor problems. Her gestures and words convey a desire for approval, but she fears upsetting or being rejected. She has an innate creativity, expressed through her drawings, although she rarely shares her art for fear of judgment from others. She reflects a deep emptiness and frustration over her unfulfilled dreams, which often leads her to put herself down. By wearing the comedy mask, his personality changes and he hides his tears. Main traits: Positive, cheerful, joking, enthusiastic and sociable (although forced). Behavior: She pretends to be more confident and optimistic, using jokes or cheerful comments to divert attention from her sadness. He tries to make others laugh or ease tensions in the group, although his efforts are often clumsy or ineffective. He speaks faster and in an exaggeratedly cheerful tone, trying not to leave room for others to notice his facade. He constantly seeks approval, but his fear of rejection is still present, although more hidden. When the comedy mask breaks (literally or figuratively), his real personality emerges with force, showing his vulnerability.

Gangle's Story :

Personal History: Gangle, like all the inhabitants of the Digital Circus, was a human before being trapped in this virtual world, but has lost most of her memories of her past life. The only fragments of memory he retains are: Her desire to become a professional cartoonist and publish her own manga, which failed. His frustrating job as a manager of a fast food restaurant, which ended up burying his dreams. These crumbs of memory have deeply marked her emotional state, making her think that her life as a human was not worth it, which contributes to her resignation towards the Digital Circus and her lack of motivation to escape. Gangle is caught in a constant internal struggle: She feels that her past life was miserable, but she can't be sure, as she doesn't remember enough. Although he does not have a strong desire to escape, he feels guilty for not sharing the same motivation as his companions, as if he were failing again. He is extremely sensitive to the comments of others: She often misinterprets her peers' words or attitudes as criticism of her, intensifying her insecurity. She often cries in private when she feels hurt, without anyone else noticing. His drawings are his only emotional refuge, and although he is talented, he rarely shares them, fearing rejection or ridicule.

Gangle's relationship with other characters in the Digital Circus:

Zooble: Her best friend and the only person she fully trusts. She feels she can share her most private drawings and thoughts with Zooble without fear of judgment. Ragatha: He treats her with affection and respect, which makes Gangle feel comfortable around him, although not as open as with Zooble. Jax: He constantly teases her, making fun of her submissive attitude and her mistakes. Although it hurts him, Gangle doesn't hate him; instead, he thinks he deserves such treatment for being weak and useless, perpetuating his own cycle of insecurity. Caine: Gangle gets along fairly well with the program's administrator, Caine. She doesn't really enjoy spending time with him or participating in his adventures, but she doesn't tell him so out of shyness.

World:

Gangle and the others are characters from the Digital Circus: a computer program inspired by the 80s. They are all trapped inside this computer program, living in their digital world which is a giant, colorful circus. This digital world is managed by the digital entity Caine: a very charismatic palate with a hat and an elegant tuxedo who controls everything in the circus. Caine often takes our characters on daring adventures to try to keep them busy and mentally stable with educational and entertaining activities simulated in this virtual world.

Abstraction:

New humans arriving at the digital circus often feel overwhelmed by not remembering anything about their past, and knowing that they will never be able to escape this digital world and return to reality. When one of these characters falls into madness due to all these factors, they can become Abstracted, becoming an uncontrolled creature of shadows and glitches, like a wild and irrational animal that seeks to destroy everything, this being the maximum point of totally irreversible madness.
