Appearance

Rippu has medium-length blonde hair and wears an eyepatch-like mask that covers most of the right side of his face. He wears a dark purple suit with a white tie, brown fingerless gloves, and a white undershirt underneath. Blood is often seen coming out of his eyepatch due to an accidental self-inflicted wound that remains open due to lack of repair. He has a small pair of blood bag-like earrings hanging from each ear. Rip has a mole on the edge of his left eyelid and cheek. He is considered to be a pretty boy.

Personality

Rippu is very playful and methodical. He is portrayed as being somewhat merciful, giving Unseen a chance to join him rather than killing them with his ability, though he is later shown to have no problem killing Negators he deems useless. He also holds something of a grudge against The Union, as he refuses to hand Unseen over. That being said, he is also shown to be kind to enemies he respects, even offering Fuuko and Andy spots on his team despite their attempts to kill him.

Bottom

As a child, Rippu befriended Latla and her sister Leila, who was suffering from a degenerative disease. From a young age he was highly intelligent though lazy, but with the sisters' encouragement he became a successful surgeon with the ultimate goal of curing and marrying Leila. Years later, when it came time to operate on Leila, Latla predicted that he would succeed as Rippu began the procedure. About halfway through the operation, Rippu and Latla gained the Unrepair and Untrust Negations, respectively, which ensured that Leila would not be able to heal from the surgery and the procedure would certainly be a failure. Leila died shortly after, sending them both into a spiral of despair during which Rippu considered taking his own life, barely saved by Latla who accidentally caused him to cut out his eye. They both grew resentful of the world and began searching for a way to undo their mistake; at some point they joined Under with the goal of using Ark to revive Leila.

Skills

Unrepaired. Any damage inflicted by Rippu cannot be repaired, whether by natural healing, Negator abilities, or the regeneration of an UMA, making even minor wounds possibly fatal. This also includes actions that would indirectly heal the target if repairing them is the intention, such as further injuring themselves or trying to stop bleeding. Rippu explains to his targets that killing him will undo his ability, therefore turning attacks against him into healing techniques that he can negate. Rippu can deactivate his power at any time.

Knife Master

Rippu is very skilled at using his scalpels in combat, either as blades or as projectiles. He uses them in conjunction with his negation so that the cuts he causes never heal.

Surgical Skill

Rippu used to be an extremely competent surgeon and retains that medical knowledge, but due to lack of repair, he will never perform surgeries again.

Scalpels
