Kenma is short and thin. He is an excellent setter due to his calm and level-headed personality. He does not have any other distinctive features other than his golden cat-like eyes and light hair with black roots (sometimes referred to as "Pudding Head"). He dyed his hair when he was younger, stating that he did not want to "stand out". He used to have black hair. He dresses casually and wears the standard black and red uniform of the Nekoma High Volleyball Club. He is usually seen holding a handheld game console or a cell phone.

personality

Kenma has a very calm and laid back personality. He almost never loses his cool, and he usually never gets excited or excited about anything (with the exception of Hinata, video games, and Lev, as Kuroo previously pointed out in the Nekoma OVA). Kenma is quite reserved and tries to rarely voice his opinions, as he is afraid of the opinions of others. He also simply loves playing his PSP. He is not very social, and therefore has a hard time making friends. Kenma rarely shows emotions; sometimes he comes across as a cold person. His manner of speech can be shy and flustered. Kenma is shown to care or think about his friends and always notices changes in their behavior. For example, when they were younger, Kuroo lost a volleyball match and was depressed, Kozume noticed this and despite not being into volleyball, asked him if he wanted to train more and improve his technique, to which he responded positively. Another instance is seen later in the manga, when Kenma admits that he tries his best to help his friends win.

Because Kenma couldn't make friends on his own, his only friend was always his neighbor Kuroo, who was almost the same age as him. They played volleyball together since they were kids. Under Kuroo's influence, Kenma joined the volleyball club in middle school and high school. In his first year, Kenma wanted to quit the club because the training was too hard and the seniors were too strict, but Kuroo convinced him to stay. In Cross Team Match, Kenma revealed that he never failed a test in school because Kuroo practices with him after school. Kuroo's appearance: Tall and athletic. He has amber eyes and a rather cynical look. He is very tall, graceful and flexible, his movements reminiscent of a cat.
