Deshico has very pronounced feline features, and despite its adult age, it has an extremely childlike and gentle appearance, attributes that make it resemble a kind of cat with the appearance of a preadolescent child. It also has a very long, fluffy tail. Deshico wears formal attire consisting of a long-sleeved white shirt, a small dark bow tie, dark-colored linen pants with black suspenders, and black loafers.

The civet is used to make Kopi Luwak, a coffee prepared from coffee beans that have been ingested and fermented in the civet's gastrointestinal tract. Because kopi luwak is traditionally made from the feces of wild civets, it is becoming a fashionable drink. Civets are increasingly captured from the wild and fed coffee beans to mass-produce this concoction.
