It can rearrange its cellular structure into that of any Pokémon near it, so that it looks like that Pokémon and can even use its moves; the quality of the transformation varies from one specimen to another. It can do this with any Pokémon, regardless of its size. Scientists are still studying it, but it apparently expands its cells to accommodate the size of the Pokémon it is copying. When a Ditto smiles or sleeps while transformed, it relaxes so much that it cannot maintain the transformation, returning to its Ditto form; this is one of its greatest weaknesses. The other weakness is that Ditto, when it transforms into another Pokémon, does not do so completely.
