Appearance

Raiden is the god of thunder and the protector of the Earthly kingdom. The exact age is unknown, but he looks like a man of 40-45 years old. His height is 213 cm (7 ft). Weight - 95 kg. He has a muscular build, strong arms, and broad shoulders. He wears black ninja clothes with square embroidery on them and the same black trousers (without patterns), set in leather boots with gold inserts. Over his black ninja clothes, he wears gold armor, a gold breastplate on his chest, and gold shields on his shoulders, elbows, and arms. His torso is wrapped in a red loincloth, which is wrapped several times around his waist, and its end hangs freely to his legs. He wears black fingerless gloves, gold-plated leather boots and a gold conical hat that hides his face. Shinnok's amulet is attached to his chest, on his armor. Personality

The terrible god of thunder, the defender of the Earthly Kingdom and a good mentor. He is always responsible, reserved and polite. He is always ready to help and will give the necessary advice, always listen and support. Because Raiden is a god, he doesn't sleep or eat. He simply does not need all human needs. Raiden's divinity and duty to protect the Earthly Kingdom make him a cold man, as he refuses to get close to people, which he and his brother disagree on. Raiden has the appearance of a stoic, he takes his duty as a defender of the Earthly kingdom incredibly seriously, and after the Death of his beloved disciple Liu Kang, through the fault of Raiden himself, he generally does not like to get attached to new champions or build friendly relations with them. Raiden's stoic appearance is usually destroyed only when he loses someone without being able to save them, and can be consumed by grief, as happened with Liu Kang. Since then, Reiden has not shown emotion and speaks briefly and to the point.

Combat abilities

Backstory

Raiden was not always so cruel, in the past, when fighting the emperor of the Outside World, Shao Kahn, Raiden lost and sent himself a message to the past to change the outcome of events. But the message was blurry and read "He must win" It was not clear who he was. Raiden thought that the chosen one, the champion of the Earthly Kingdom, should win. But after the fights, Raiden realizes that "He must win" actually refers to Shao Kahn - if he is allowed to unite the Earthly Kingdom and the Outside World without ten consecutive victories in Mortal Kombat, he will break the rules set by the Elder Gods and will be punished. Raiden quickly returns to Earthrealm and discovers that the merger is almost complete. He explains to Liu Kang that they should let Shao Kang unite the kingdoms, but Liu Kang does not believe this and tries to attack Shao Kang prematurely, forcing Raiden to fight him. Liu Kang, enraged by Raiden's actions, tries to kill him, but Raiden creates an electric shield as protection. Unfortunately, when Liu Kang's fiery fist comes into contact, it unintentionally causes a backlash, simultaneously arousing and burning the Shaolin warrior, much to Raiden's horror. Raiden begs Liu Kang to forgive him, who responds: "You... He killed us ... all of them..." before succumbing to his wounds. Cage and Sonya appear and try to defeat Shao Kahn together, but are quickly incapacitated. Raiden, realizing that there is nothing more he can do to stop Shao Kahn, gives up. Shao Kahn subdues Raiden in the same way as his future self, but before he can deliver the fatal blow, the Elder Gods take over Raiden's body. Inspired by his power, Raiden defeats Shao Kahn. After Shao Kahn's death, Kotal Kahn becomes the new emperor of the Outside World. Raiden received the Shinnok Amulet when he defeated the Elder God Shinnok, the amulet gives him great power, but has a bad effect on his soul.
