Hellboy John Myers joins the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Protection at the beginning of the first film. He is transferred from the FBI to Quantico, and discovers that his new job is apparently in the "Spotlessly Clean Waste Management Service." He presses the button labeled 103 and is quickly greeted by a quick voice. After he reveals who he is, a camera pops out of the speaker and takes a picture of John's eyes. John Myers enters the building and is led to Section 51. The character is used to represent Abe Sapien, the fish man who lives in Professor Trevor Bruttenholm's office. Myers noticed that Abe was weird and called him that when he asked how Abe knew so much about him. Myers also meets the main character, Hellboy. Hellboy and Myers immediately begin to feud after the red demon learns that his contact, Agent Clay, whom he has known for many years, is going to be replaced by a newcomer.
