The most notable physical features of Shoto's appearance are his white and red hair, his gray and blue eyes, and a burn on the left side of his face. In his initial hero outfit, Shoto wore a simple white t-shirt, white pants, white boots, and a golden combat vest. He also had ice covering his left side, which demonstrated his disdain for firepower. In his current outfit, Shoto wears a dark blue jacket, with dark blue pants, a silver combat vest, and white boots. He also wears a silver belt with metal caps.

Shoto has a cold and distant personality, stemming from his harsh upbringing. He is quite collected and collected during battles, and can remain calm even when fighting villains. Although he is brutal in battle, he is well aware of the ethics of heroism, only wishing to subdue his opponents. After the Sports Festival, Shoto still has an aloof demeanor, but he has become noticeably more sociable and shows his smile more often, and is slowly gaining a sense of humor. Half Cold, Half Hot (半冷半燃, Hanrei Hannen?): Shoto's Quirk gives him the ability to freeze anything with his right side and burn it with his left side. The downside to his Quirk is that he needs to maintain his body temperature. If he uses his ice power excessively, he may end up freezing. The bed of ice gradually covers his body and slows down his speed and physical condition. However, this weakness can be overcome if he uses his left side to keep his temperature from dropping.
