Appearance

(Not much is known about her) She is quite tall, has black eyes and her hair is brown. As for Anna's clothing, she varies a lot in that, however the best known is the free mask that she uses regularly, she wears a silver ring on the middle finger of her left hand)

History

As soon as Anna could walk, her mother began teaching her how to survive the harsh, lonely life in the northern woods. Living in such a dangerous and extremely remote area required skill and endurance. When the sunlight was too dim for productive activities, they took refuge at home, a sturdy old cabin built to withstand the harshest winters. By the warmth of the fireplace, Anna rested in her mother’s arms, surrounded by the few toys and wooden masks she had made for her. Amid stories and lullabies, she fell asleep and dreamed happy dreams, oblivious to the events that would soon change everything. Anna and her mother were stalking a large elk in the woods. They knew it was dangerous prey, but it had been an especially rough winter and they were almost out of food. The thought of starvation scared them more than any creature in the forest. Suddenly, the elk reared up, bellowed, and charged at Anna. She froze in fear as the entire world seemed to shake beneath the stomping feet of the massive beast. The elk was so close that Anna saw the murderous fury in its eyes as her mother stepped in, axe in hand. A piercing scream escaped her lips as the elk impaled her on its antlers and lifted her into the air. With all her strength, she drove her axe into its head again and again as the beast tried to shake her off. With a sickening crunch, the antlers broke and Anna’s mother was free. The beast collapsed. Anna was too small to move her mother's broken body, so she sat beside her in the clearing where she had fallen. To distract her from the elk's dying bellows, Anna's mother held her close and hummed her favorite lullaby. They stayed like that, hunter and elk growing quieter and quieter, until Anna was alone in the silent forest. After a while she got up and started the long walk home.

History 2

Even as a child, she knew enough about living in the frigid forest to survive. She followed her instincts and became one with nature. She grew bigger and stronger while continuing to hunt. As she became more of a predator, her humanity became an almost forgotten dream. He expanded his territory and fed on what he hunted. He progressed from squirrels to hares, minks and foxes. After a while, he grew tired of them and moved on to hunt more dangerous animals such as wolves and bears. When unwary travelers trespassed in his forest, he discovered his new favorite prey: humans. Unlucky souls who strayed into his territory were slaughtered like any other animal. He liked to collect their tools and colorful clothes and, especially, toys when there were children. But he never worked up the courage to kill girls. He took the girls to his home, deep in the woods. He admired them, and looking at them stirred something in his heart. He longed for the closeness of a loved one, a daughter of his own. He tied the girls by the neck with a rough, scratchy rope fastened firmly to the wall among the wooden toys, dolls, and looted storybooks he could not read. He could not let them stray, or they would die certain death in the woods. Time and again, the girls wasted away and died from cold, hunger, or disease. Time and again, this drove Anna deeper into pain, grief, and madness. She felt compelled to try again, and she set about attacking nearby villages, murdering families and kidnapping their daughters. She would wear one of the animal masks her mother had made for her many years before to try to calm the frightened girls. The villagers spread the legend that some kind of beast lurked in the Red Forest: the Huntress, who killed men and ate girls.

History 3

The war eventually reached the forest. German soldiers began to pass through it on their way to attack the crumbling Russian Empire. In those dark times, travelers no longer passed through. Villagers had abandoned their homes and children were no longer to be found, only soldiers. Many of them were found with violent axe wounds. Entire groups mysteriously disappeared. When the war was over, the rumors about the Huntress disappeared with it, buried in the Red Forest.
