Drooper the Lion [ The banana Splits movie ]

Appearance

Drooper is a brown lion with a large red nose and two large nostrils, and wears a pair of yellowish-orange sunglasses, a hat like the other members, and white leggings on his feet. He has a dark brown mane and the tip of his tail is yellow. On the poster, he is depicted with sharp teeth, but these are not used in the film.

Trivia

In the original version of Banana Splits, Drooper's eyes are always closed, while in the film they remain open. On the cover of the film's DVD, Drooper has sharp teeth that are not present on his film counterpart. Drooper is the first animatronic to kill someone and partially the last (since he shares a death with Fleegle), unless you count Bingo and Snorky's fight.

Extra data

At first, Drooper was a happy-go-lucky mascot like everyone else. However, after his show is cancelled, he, along with the other animatronics, embark on a killing spree caused in part by a faulty code. He first kills his co-star on the show, Stevie, by shoving a plastic lollipop down his throat after he spits alcohol on him and mocks him by telling him that he will soon destroy him. Later, Drooper and Fleegle make Rebecca and Jonathan (whom Drooper had already set on fire) run through a slippery obstacle course. In the end, Drooper hits Rebecca in the face with a hammer, killing her. Even later, Fleegle and Drooper put on a "show" for the children they kidnapped, in which they set fire to Stevie's corpse and dismembered Andy, the station manager, limb from limb.

Personality

At first, Drooper the lion was a happy-go-lucky pet for children. But that went up in smoke when he, along with his friends Fleegle the beagle/dog, Bingo the gorilla/monkey, and Snorky the elephant found out that their show was going to be cancelled. This caused him to become vengeful, ruthless, and murderous.
