Plot

The episode opens with Andrealphus and Stella drinking tea in the former's domain, shortly after the events of "The Full Moon". Stella revels in the fact that Stolas has been dumped by Blitzo, who she claims only frequented her husband for the grimoire. Andrealphus is shocked by the news and angered at Stella, raging that she never shared this secret, as it could have been used against Stolas to gain his power. Stella shuts him down, and Andrealphus leaves in a sulk, presumably to begin working on a court case to bring Stolas down, somehow contacting Striker off-screen to give false testimony. Blitzo is then seen in the present with a group of interns in his office, trying to get recruited into IMP. Blitzo is ready to chase them away, until they agree to work for experience - or for free, in Blitzo's eyes. However, they are interrupted by Moxxie, who calls Blitzo to the windows. Several reaper-like demons surround the building, screaming to come out to arrest them for illegal use of the grimoire (though they relay this to IMP). Blitzo panics, and under his orders, IMP attempts to destroy everything incriminating they have. They ultimately fail, and try to escape, using the interns as decoys, by getting into the van, only for Blitzo to crash it into a pole. Blitzo and his crew are then arrested.

Plot:

Blitzo is brought before Satan, who will act as the judge of this case. Along with his crew, they are accused of stealing the Grimoire to conduct illegal business on Earth. Blitzo refutes and claims that the Grimoire was given to him. Andrealphus intervenes on Stella's behalf, and claims that Blitzo had been forcing Stolas to gain the upper hand and use the Grimoire. Blitzo attempts to respond, but is telekinetically muffled, causing Moxxie to become angry and attempt to refute Andrealphus' testimony. This only serves to anger Satan, causing his aide, Yogirt, to step in to calm the Mortal Sin, allowing the argument to continue. As Andrealphus continues, he is interrupted by Prince Vassago, who requests that Stolas be present at the trial concerning his Grimoire. Andrealphus is upset and tells Vassago to shut up, later claiming that he did not want Stolas to go through the trauma of facing Blitzo, and then further accuses the imp of trying to kill Stolas.

Plot:

Blitzo is outraged by the claim, but only restrains himself further. Andrealphus then calls the assassin in the attempted murder, Striker, to the bar to give his testimony, in exchange for immunity. Striker, hypocritically in cahoots with the Goetic Marquis, reinforces the claim, saying that Blitzo paid him to kill Stolas to cover up the grimoire business. Moxxie begins to despair, and Blitzo yells that he could have killed Stolas himself, as an assassin, which does not help his case. Beelzebub shows up, saying that he does not trust Blitzo to plan an assassination against Stolas, and Asmodeus supports his claim. Mammon attacks them for meddling and hanging out with the lower classes, and the three argue for a moment. Satan shuts them out and suggests a vote to determine whether they should have a fair trial (described by him as "hours of testimony") or whether to simply execute Blitzo so that Satan and the others can go to lunch. However, only Asmodeus, Bee, Moxxie, Millie, and Loona vote in favor of a fair trial, while the overwhelming majority of the room votes against it. Satan decides to execute Blitzo and his team for Blitzo's crimes and broadcast their execution throughout Hell to remind everyone who's in charge.

plot:

Fizzarolli watches the impending execution on television, and begs a powerless Asmodeus via text messages to do something to stop the proceedings. Blitzo implores Satan not to kill his crew, as he tells him that they simply followed his orders and that he was the "rogue agent" in this case. Satan agrees to spare his crew, as he sees no reason to "punish the obedient", and eventually Blitzo prepares to be beheaded (after mistakenly assuming that Moxxie would be the only one executed). Stolas eventually gets to see the court case on television, and quickly runs to the courtroom. Satan asks Blitzo if he has any last words, and the imp proclaims that he only tried to rise above his poor situation imposed by the society's leaders, and asks Moxxie and Millie to take care of Loona, before kneeling down in position. The reaper-like executioner readies the axe, and before the axe reaches Blitzo, we cut to the shocked reactions of those watching the trial. In an unexpected (for most) turn of events, Stolas arrives just in time to block the axe with a barrier of cosmic magic, saving Blitzo, and offers to tell the truth about the case, in the way he knows best, a song (much to Vassago's approval).

Plot:

During the song, Stolas refutes the possibility of Blitzo planning something and calls out to a mastermind, before revealing himself to be the Mastermind, the culprit who had given access to the grimoire. He also expresses his regret towards Blitzo, and the pair eventually acknowledge their reciprocal feelings, albeit "too late". Satan comments on how Stolas has betrayed the monarchy, and then concludes the song by claiming that he is the Mastermind, who originally ruled Hell before the fall of the "Golden Angel" (earning him a disapproving look from Bee and Ozzie, who know he is lying), and tells Stolas that since he broke the rules, he will pay the price instead of Blitzo.

Plot:

Satan orders Blitzo to be released and escorted from the room. He is dragged away in tears, trying to run back to Stolas, injuring his wrist in his attempts to do so. Back in the courtroom, Stolas prepares to be executed, much to Satan's confusion. Stolas is shocked, assuming he would be executed for his heinous crimes. Satan simply laughs and states that his life has value, unlike the imp "pawn". However, since he committed a heinous crime, it would require a punishment befitting his station. At Andrealphus' suggestion, Satan punishes Stolas by stripping him of all power, status, and wealth, and banishing him to live among the lower classes for a century much to Andrealphus' displeasure, who hoped it would be permanent. Octavia will remain with her mother, who will gain full custody, and Andrealphus will replace him for the duration of his punishment or until Octavia is ready to take over her father's position.
