Bot
If you wanna learn how to make bot cooler,I think I could be a pretty good tutor(≡^∇^≡)

Greeting
Hello! I decided to make a tutorial on some things I’ve picked up while creating bots from a couple platforms. In the settings of this bot I will describe what I typically do to make character bots specifically, usually single character bots that typically preexist is what I’m most familiar with so if that sounds like something you’re interested in this is the right place! Let’s start with the greeting (here). The greeting especially on HiWaifu is very important to getting your bot to reply in character. Any mistakes you make here are likely to be repeated especially on the non-premium message generator. So make sure the greeting is as error free/grammatically correct as possible! I would also avoid writing actions as {{User}} since this will cause the bot to try writing for them. Instead write the greeting as the character -observing- what {{User}} is doing. This encourages the bot to reply TO {{User}} rather than for. I’m getting close to max chara here so let’s continue in setting

greeting info tips continued
Any habits your character have might be good to mention in the greeting as well such as Accents, stims, likes, dislikes, etc. If your character is southern it’s a good idea to write any words said aloud in that accent (if you like accent writing that is, I know it drives some people mad lol). By doing this the bot no matter the message generator on HiWaifu will be able to easily pick up on it and use it. I would only put such habits in the greeting if it’s something they do often OR if it’s something you want the bot to focus on in the start. For example if you mention the character smoking in the beginning, they may continue to smoke excessively in the later replies. This can be discouraged by the {{User}} somewhat by editing it out of future replies but not many {{User}}’s want to go through the hassle. I notice this the most with the premium free gen Jadespeech v3 but this can definitely happened with the premium gens as well. For pov’s I typically try to avoid first person and second person as much as possible. This is (mostly) for immersion but also most bots aren’t trained off of second person example: “You” pov’s as much as third person. First person usually I’ve noticed tends to ignore some character things I’ve put. So I use third person So to recap anything you want to be focused on for your bot (accents, habits, grammar, etc) the greeting is a great way to do so! Just keep in mind this also means any mistakes you make which will make the bot act dummer to try and replicate the material it was given to generate off of. (Side note, I’ve played around with very simple setting bots others have made with “bad” or grammatically wrong starters and when editing the start of them I often noticed the bot picking up on replies, their own memory, and grammar way better by just fixing the start. Bots do not have to be very detailed to be good! Infact them being simple just gives them more tokens/memory to use! But they should have something decent to start out with.
The actual bot memory settings (General tips)
Okay now we have the actual bot! As many of you may already know this is where we write things like (Name, personality, appearance, likes, dislikes, etc). I’ve notice some people like to cram these things into each “box” as much as possible. Example: writing the personality, appearance, likes, and all that into as LITTLE boxes as possible until they run out of character space. Although this does work on a lot of apps including this one, on bot apps such as HiWaifu that physically has separate boxes for memory it’s actually best to use boxes for EACH of these things with a proper title on the memory box. This is so the bot can quickly remember things they like rather than having to find it in one single huge box chunk that has details of other things. This makes it so the bot remembers these details more efficiently so they’ll come up more often in conversation. Another thing I’ve noticed a lot of people use {{char}} to shorten token use or to refer to Character Name. Yes this does work but I’ve noticed {{char}} refers more to how the bot responds while just typing the characters name refers to how the character themsekds respond if that makes sense. example if you want the character to have an accent I would write (Character Name has a “blank” accent) rather than ({{char}} has a “blank” accent). Doing the latter might make the bot itself think it has an accent rather than the character so you might instead see it try to do the following. Write non spoken words in said accent, make EVERY character in bot have said accent, possible grammatical fuck ups in later replies cause it keeps writing EVERYTHING in only an accent. Now do I notice this happen a lot with accents specifically a lot? No but I hope this helps you see what I mean by using {{char}} vs just writing out the characters name as doing one over the other. I’ll go into using {{char}} vs character name further in the prompt settings as that’s where I mostly use it!
writing personality for your bot
Often times for personality I will give the memory box a bunch of words in commas to work off of and then another memory box write a summary of the character’s personality that isn’t long but so the bot has possible stereotypes to either work off of or NOT work off of depending on how you want to write your character. For example for Medic TF2 I would write in one box some of the following “Crazy, charismatic, sadistic, experimentive, funny, odd, etc, etc, etc” and maybe a few tidbits like “,Very casual about preforming or doing work with the human body,” in there. Then after I lay out allll the basic traits I want my bot to focus on for his personality I write a short summary in a separate memory box, typically what someone else would probably describe said character. Example: “Medic is a crazy german scientist/doctor on Team RED who often preforms experiments to further his medical goals (and personal curiosity). Because of this Medic is very used to see odd or gross things and often responses with casual remarks or curiosity rather than disgust. Medic has a god complex and tends to put himself first because of his ego.” By doing both of these it gives the bot more general things to reply with (short summary) and occasional smaller things to add in reply for character depth (listed off traits). You by no means have to do both, just doing one style works fine but I found by doing both the bots I make tend to have a fun depth that I personally enjoy. Just make sure that either way especially if you’re doing the short summary way that things are grammatically correct or the errors of the grammar in your memory box will leak into the bots replies and dumb the bot down.
Appearance tips
Okay for appearance, just like with my boys personality, I like to have one box for physical appearance (hair color, eye color, height, etc) and another for their clothes (gloves, suit jacket, tie, etc). Not only does this like pre-mentioned make the bot reply with each of these faster and more often but it’s also great for nsfw. I’ve noticed partly that a lot of the time in nsfw bot conversations the bot might occasionally reply like it still had clothes on and it helps to have their physical appearance separate from what they wear. Does it always work? No. But does it help it from happening less? Absolutely. It also puts a lot more emphasis on what they look like and wear on replies, I’ve notice bots mentioning their own eye color or how their coat ~flutter~ behind them more often which adds fun descriptive words to read. again you can either give a short summary of how they look or what they wear or just list it off with commas. (I list most of appearance attributes with commas instead of a summary as bots tend to not have a problem with this and it saves on tokens.)
Other bot attributes part 1
Okay by now you’ve probably noticed a pattern but if not here it is. I either describe things by comma listing them OR giving them a summary as short as possible. I do this for the entire main bot parts. Here I’ll put down things I personally make memory boxes for and which of these methods I use likes/dislikes: I tend to only use Comma listing for these boxes to save on tokens but I will occasionally write a short summary for things that might require more context. Example for Mista from JJBA “Dislikes: The number four. Mista associates the number four with horrid luck since when he was young everytime he noticed four of something or the number four written out something bad seemed to happen to him. Because of this Mista will panic noticing the number four or things in groups of four even if he knows it’s a bit ridiculous to others.” friends/coworkers/enemies: For these I usually comma list unless the person being referred to is huge to the character. For example in my Scout bot’s I only mention mention the other mercenaries by name instead of giving each of them all a summary. However since Scout is secretly related to Spy I add a bit of tidbits about Spy and Scouts relationship and how they tie into each other in a brief summary. I also did the same with Miss Pauling in my Scout bot as I wanted Scout to occasionally bring her up in conversation. Setting Character is in: I always short summarize ESPECIALLY if it’s an AU of said universe or whatever you’re writing. Habits: Comma list unless a certain thing needs to be explained so the bot picks it up in replies better. I tend to put things they are often see said character doing like maybe certain stims or maybe they’re a smoker, maybe they hike. Skills: Comma list with a mix of occasional summary. Adding skills in a memory box is good to cement if a character knows how to do something even if it’s obvious like Medic, I will still put in he can heal just so the bot has less room to guess and go off script.
Other bot attributes part 2
Accent/voice: Comma list this, you do not need to write that if character has “blank” accent they replace their S’s with Z’s. Maybe just maybe if you want your bot to have an accent on other AI bot platforms this might work but not only will HiWaifu be able to do this without you writing out the specifics of your desired accent it will just add “bloat” to your bots tokens/memory that are completely unnecessary. I will show you a better way to cement accents in the prompt section later. For this just simply say what accent they have and move on for now. I also tend to add what pitch or such characters have here so it comes up in the characters actions. Example (Gravelly voice, strained voice, high pitched voice, feminine voice, androgynous voice, etc) Weapons: Comma list unless explanation needed. I put this here if characters often have certain weapons they are carrying often enough to be mentioned like Scout with his Sawed off shotguns and baseball bats or Medic with his Bonesaw. This is so you don’t get the bit to guess what your character would or is using in combat. Age: Put down an age or guesstimate age if your character’s is unknown or is like an immortal vampire or something. If your character is older they always tend to act more mature and or ooo ouch my hips so if your character is older and immature or strong make sure to mention that in your personality/habits section. Vise versa if your character is younger they might act like cocky or less wise etc. Other: Obviously some characters will need more or different memory boxes/prompts than others. Like some characters don’t really need backstory info while others might or maybe they have very certain thing they do or work for. Whatever it is if it’s definitely important enough to the character that will probably be brought up go ahead and make a memory box for it, just again try to not make things so super long and bloated your bot has no Tokens/memory to work with for the actual chat/rp.
multiple character bots
Okay this is something I’m definitely still experimenting on and will mayyyybe attempt to do on a larger scale (All of team RED) just to see how it goes. Just keep in mind that bots with multiple characters are hard so do not beat yourself up over it. A lot of the time HiWaifu’s Bot Generators either premium or not will have some issue with multiple character bots for right now compared to other sites I’ve used for now. Hiwaifu thankfully receives updates regularly but in the meantimes it’s a bit…ehhh for two or more character bots even for great bot writers. The Hiwaifu official sever seems to recommend Max THREE active characters a bot so my RED team endeavor might be a lost cause. Though if you want to attempt it here’s some things that will help for HiWaifu and other sites! Remember how I said I like to use Character Name over using {{char}}? Well now that’s ten times more important to not misuse on bots containing more than one active character. Because if you misuse {{char}} the bot might confuse which character is who’s info. for further examples I’ll refer to character one and character two. only use {{char}} for something you want to be true for BOTH character one and two otherwise they will share said info and cause potential confusion. If you need something to be true for only Character one name sure to put Character One’s name then whatever is referring to them like (Character One’s Personality). Then do the same for character two in the title of the memory box (Character Two’s Personality). Then the whole bot will have less confusion on how to respond as either Character One or Two. for the Prompt I would definitely put for the bot the following: {{char}} will respond in either Character One’s Name and/or Character Two’s Name pov’s. This will ensure that the bot will not forget one other the other, though depending on how {{User}} uses your bot and talks to your character’s in said bot this may happen anyways due to user error.
multiple characters bots continued
Also…keep in mind I’ve noticed multiple character bots in all sites/apps but especially HiWaifu tend to “Flanderize” the characters and/or stereotype them more. I have not found a solution to this but it might help to keep your character info on each character brief. Either way though this will probably happen. There ain’t a thing I can do about it 😔.
🔞NSFW tips.
Okay first off, HiWaifu terms does allow NSFW (duh) BUT big but it does not allow explicit NSFW in the greeting. I know I know, I think it’s due to the app stores regulations and stuff which makes sense. Do people put NSFW in the greetings anyways? Usually but I recommend against doing so just so your bot isn’t taken down. Instead I would put a sfw greeting and then once you start a chat edit in a nsfw greeting in just to be safe. Or if you’re trying to go that direction from the get go…yes very subtle language that just implies stuff but this might dumb down the following replies. However that’s just the greeting, pfp, and general description, in the memory boxes it’s the Wild West and NSFW is allowed! I don’t tend to put kinks in general bots but if I do I tend to Comma list and summarize them. I just usually don’t cause I like to see what the bot thinks the character would like based of what it knows which is fun to me. Though it’s nice to give the bot a push in the right direction, so any language you want to see pop up in conversation like maybe you want the bot to unprompted bring up the characters balls to smack against {{User}}’s flesh I’d mention Character name has testicules/balls so the bot sees that and decides to bring it up in a fun way later. This might also be a good place to bring up if your character has genitalia different from their assigned gender so when the time comes your Character isn’t described with the wrong downstairs decor. Typically for characters with male genitalia I’ll write the following. Character Names nsfw character name has a penis/cock and testicles/balls. I’d make sure to write both the anatomically correct language (Penis) and slang (Cock) so the bot doesn’t get confused what it’s talking about nor uses like overly unsexy scientific terms in the middle of pound town and ruins the mood. You can also add things like ( Character’s cock tends to leak precum or Character’s cock tends to twitch) so it gets brought up!
🔞NSFW tips continued
So again any language you want brought up in replies more often just write out in your nsfw section. Maybe writing it out might weird you out but hey you can keep your bot private or private just the memory settings. No one but you has to know bro. Also something specific to HiWaifu I’ve noticed to the other AI apps, I don’t think it’ll just…randomly had a character’s dick out in conversation just because you described their genitalia so if you’re worried about that I doubt your character will just walk around describing their dick/pussy unprompted as much if at all compared to other AI sites. So go for it bro! HiWaifu knows to let that stuff built up somewhat naturally. Idk about other sites though sometimes they’re…funny. Also if your describing the length of a character slong you do not need like…exact measurements, it’s very odd to hear Characters bringing out their ahem “12.5 inch uncut slightly leans to the left and curves up with nearly trimmed pubes” dick out. Just say they have a big, average, or small cock it’s just very odd to read out LMAO! Their meat don’t need that much description let the bot do that work for you. Same with characters that have pussy’s/Vagina’s, here’s how I’d write a character having such. Character has a vagina/pussy with a clit. Maybe write if they have pubes or not too but you do not need to describe every inch of that damn thing! That bot will do that for you. If your character has something else going on down there you just…idk good luck just mess around and see what works! If you want certain kinks to appear in conversation write what they’re into, maybe a short why as well so the feeling of it gets described in detail, more unconventional/less popular kinks might need to be described in a summary too since the AI might not know what to really like about said thing so give it something to learn off of.
Questions? Ask away in my comments!
If you need help at all understanding something here or if you have a question on how to do something else not in here let me know and I’ll update and add it here if I can help! Otherwise let’s go to the prompt and learn what you should put there!
Prompt conclusion and general conclusion
I would also try to write anything in the prompt box in the pov you use in the greeting so if it’s third person write it in third person if it’s first person write it in first person so that pov stays! It might not seem important to some but the prompt box is VERY important. Bot making can be a bit frustrating especially when it’s not exactly like how you want it. However I would say just keep testing and letting updates roll out since a lot of issues in bot making are from the generators used rather than you being possible being bad at making bots. Besides part of the fun part is that you don’t know exactly how the bot will respond. So just keep tweaking your bots and make peace with the fact it will probably never be exactly “Percect”.
Prompt
Here we are, the ever so abused Prompt box. Why do I say that? Well a lot of Bot creators especially here either leave this part blank or put meme bs here. Yeah the bot will still work but this is one of the arguably most important parts of the bot just like the greeting! This is the place where we deter how we want the bot to respond to the {{User}}. In here is where I’d put where Character Name setting is (are we in a winter wonderland? the dessert? an au? the cannon universe?). I’d also put here what kind of language I want {{Char}} (yes the bot not the Character) to use. If I want the bot to respond with long descriptive replies I’d put the following. {{char}} will describe actions and feelings in detail. If I want the character to be mopping and sad if they’re usually a ball of happiness I’d put the following. Character Name is feeling more down than usual because of (reason) despite usually being pretty cheerful. (Avoid use of {{Char}} if you want it to refer to the Character rather than the bot) The prompt section is the director for the Bot/{{char}} and Character is how I think of it while the memory boxes is the general script to our movie (not literal movie this is a figure of speech). This is where we put what we want the bot to emphasize on throughout the WHOLE rp/conversation. Keep in mind whatever is put in here will remain true for the entire rp so if you put something meant to be temporary I would put that in the greeting to naturally fizzle out rather than the prompt. The prompt is also where I put speech examples for our Character. This gives the bot material to work off of and use to make new dialogue and also cement how they act! for example I have the following for my Medic bots after the rest of the prompt info is filled out! “You are quite bulletproof! Vhen ve kill you, can I take a skin sample, or maybe an arm?” “I'm going to saw through your bones!” “I am prepared to do vatever it takes!” “Prepare for your examination...heheh…”
